There just aren’t many complaints you can have with a game that is as deep, complex and thoroughly engrossing as Out of the Park Baseball 9.

Out of the Park Baseball 9 doesn't add a lot to an already fantastic formula, but a host of small refinements make it the best game in the history of the franchise.
At the end of the day, playing a game that so closely mimics the real thing is all you can hope for. Out of the Park 9 is hands down one of the best baseball sims I’ve ever laid eyes on, and I can’t wait to finish this review so I can play more.
After nine versions, there is no question that OOTP is firmly atop the baseball general manager simulation heap. For new players this is stellar material despite its issues, but longtime fans and especially those who own last year's game need to weigh their options a bit more closely. OOTP 9 is worth the $40 upgrade, but just barely.
Out of the Park Baseball 9 is a dream for every baseball fan out there. Other gamers might have a hard time getting used to the game however.
I think if you really took the time to delve into and test out the game’s options, then you could make it effective at simulating a modern Major League season, and if you're interested in other leagues (like the Japanese or Mexican leagues) or in historical leagues, then OTPB9 is just about the only option out there.
