    Postal 2...

What can I say...the game kicks ass...

Yes, it is very controversial...but that is what makes it so damn fun...I mean you can literally do anything...and well those who say it is sluggish or slow in gameplay obviously played it for what may have been like 10 minutes and didnt like all the badass cliche jokes that are in the game...hence they cut it off and came here to ma
ke a terrible review on what they experienced...

I can say that if you know sumone insane dont let them play the game unless it helps to prevent them from doing anything bad in real life...

Now those that say this is like GTA...are right yet wrong...it is like GTA in its free roaming way...but GTA isnt as fun or gory or all out let you do anything game...

This game will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire ride...and well yes there is Multiplayer now...and it too is not perfect...it seems that the ingame server browser miscalculates the ping sorta like steam's server browser that you can use before entering a game...so yea...for example it may say that you get like 117 ping on a server but when you join you can really have like half of that...so yea...

The MP also is just as controversial as the SP is so watch out and you have to allow foul language from others to not offend you that much because it is there and will be used...

The graphix people say are not that good but for the Unreal engine they are actually all pretty tight and nice to view...so yea...

Now go and blast away your boss and set the army on fire and well if they run towards you and set you on fire...just pee on your self...but be careful not to piss on your self for too long or you may swallow sum...

A nasty, crude adventure that cause the ignorant to squirm. The main concept isn't the combat or graphics. If you dive into the game without expecting anything, you will truly be rewarded with laughs and entertainment.

Sure this game isn't for everybody. Some people take gaming a little too seriously. This game is made to have fun with. You can do your errands ... or not. You can wait in line to buy your milk ... or kill all the people in line and the cashier and walk away with your $5. Its up to you. If you are looking for a deep, meaningful experience, move on. If you are looking for an entertaining few days worth of play, and endless replayability, go get it. I gave it a 9 as multiplayer would make this game a perfect game in my eyes. It cries out for a multiplayer. RWS has said a patch will be released, when is anybody's guess at this point. Expand

Honestly, the first time you sit down to play Postal 2, you should take things with a grain of salt. Its gameplay is completely average -- but its sense of humor and irreverence is something unequaled. You get to fight Gary Coleman. You get to use cats as a machine gun silencer. You can urinate on people. Come on.

By now, Postal 2 is probably available in the bargain bin for $10. It

It is a funny!! Yes it is "low brow", but it is still funny and off the wall. The main character's voice comments are great! Try it, and you will like it. (Load times are the only thing that keeps this from getting a 10..well that and no mulit-player action, but hell, they give you a map bulider..so I guess you can...play with yourself?)

Running with Scissors has done the impossible, they have taken the Unreal engine and created a game that is visually dull and at times ugly. Voice acting is bad, dialogue is repetitive and uninteresting and the gameplay is sluggish. This game is cheesy and amateurish. Once the novelty of the well publisized and controversial content wares off you are left with a game that is for the most part forgetable. Expand

When i played this for the first time, i was suspicious about it. I downloaded the patches from RWS-site and started playing. After i stopped playing, i watched the clock: jeez, i had played it over 8 hours! This game is so underestimated. It truly deserves 10/10 or 5/5.

Definitely RWS's best game! Grab a copy off Steam, RWS said they will be offering updates for steam users. Well worth buying to support the Dev's of this classic.

If you're expecting a new Half-Life like FPS, you WILL be disappointed... if you know what this game is about, and are the kind of sick f*ck who wants to play it, you will absolutely LOVE it... (i did) it could've been more inovative tho, and did have the occasional problems... all in all, i give it a very strong 7/10.

While not as interactive as I would have liked, Postal 2 is still a hell of a lot of fun. Guns, Crude humour, Cat Silencers and the like make for a very funny game. Yes, IGN lied their assholes off - The load times are NOT 2-3 minutes. What a tosser that Ivan Anushead is. Good : Physics, Pissing :), Humour Bad : Gore NOWHERE near as violent as I had inticipated. No leg and arm dismemberments with a shotgun??! Cmon, SOF 1 even had full body dismemberments - Lazy punks! Only so much you can do with the weapons, and after awhile the NPC's feel waaaay to fake. Wow, ANOTHER 'KICK ME' guy.. joy... Also had some NPC bumping problems, lol, they would get stuck running into eachother. Expand

It's a great game. It (gameplay) will however wear off. I think though most will go back from time to time to "go postal" after a hard day's work. That's what this game is about. A release if you want. You don't have to kill anyone and why sometimes you just can't help yourself. I love the idea. Do simple chores and if you want "go postal". The game is just everday life with your wicked twist. The dialog will leave you speechless. Which by the way is a good thing. After you lay a couple of people to rest you may have a smart ass remark. It's a pull from Duke Nukem but done better. The "dude" is such a hardass that it reminds me of "Ash" on Army of Darkness. One tacky and unrelated "feature" to the game is the ablity to pee. Yep, you can pee on people. It's funny but get's old quick. The people react the same. Scream if your "thingie" is to close to them, or laugh if your afar. The technology in the game is okay. It's NOT a programming master peice on the tech side. It is however on the "senario/gameplay" side. There are a few bugs here and there but nothing annoying. You get stuck everyonce in a while but they programmed a way out. The game will actually see that your stuck and move you out. Cool feature. Graphics are not that great and for some reason they need a great system. It's more like the overhead of the Unreal 2 engine than the actual graphics used in the game. Which is a shame. I think the game could have been done in Quake3 engine with better results. However I am sure due to price the Unreal engine was the best choice *They are constantly in court with The US Postal Service for trademark infriengments. I think this game deserves a spot in history. The spot would be displayed in the United States Congress chamber. It would be taunting them and laughing while saying "You ban me, and I will go Postal on your ass" ----Dave Expand

Postal 2 isn't so much a "game" as a series of potentially amusing and entertaining set pieces. Potential being the operative word, as the enjoyment will vary by the individual. PETA fanatics, career protesters and limpwristed pansies will no doubt be outraged and horrified (when are they not?). The majority of (male) gamers who aren't on some radical fringe and are also fairly well-adjusted will surely find something to like about Postal 2. Setting a cat ablaze in the mall, and then finding that it has caused a chaotic flaming domino effect in the food court was relatively inventive and a nice break from the mostly repetetive goings-on. Technically, it's a hastily cobbled together sandbox-like mess, but the potential is there should RWS choose to go for a third try. If they do, I hope they try much harder next time. It's certainly no CBFD (that one was, and still is, a 10), and RWS is obviously no RARE (who is?). But to say it has absolutely no merit is being biased. Expand

A great game! Alot like GTA, do what you want, but with a few missions involved. Also very funny, and laid-back. If you fail a mission, its not the end of the game like some other games like this. If you fail a mission, which is hard to do, just shoot they guy who made you fail, simple!

I think this game is humorous, despite that there's a lot of repetive dialouge and some bugs, and that the game has not so much space to play in - i think it's great, altough the combat is "duck 2 seconds...come out and shot 1 time, then again duck 2 seconds" and the loading time is dreadful(for old computers, with new computers the loading time is 5 seconds) But i still ejoy the "functions" that this gamae has: Urinating, hitting with a shovel or electrucuteing with a tazer, setting a NPC on fire etc. (Im opposed to all that stuff in real life) Altough the cars seem as "usseles eploding props" it's still fun to set them on fire resulting in a chain reaction. The ingame AI is not so bad... I mean they do not point up or down with there guns when they shot vertically, they still have the functions such as: running away, kicking a dead body, talking with each other, engaging with static props (such as arcade games) etc. I give this game a 9 out of 10 since it's humorous, and to such a bad game for 2003. Ah yes, Postal 2, where to begin... This game is a strange mix of Duke Nukem humor, open world gameplay, and has some of the most bizarre characters I have ever seen. You know a game has to be good with an arsenal ranging from shovels, to the mighty napalm launcher. The controversy behind it makes it all the more enticing of a game. I grade this one down mostly on a fairly short campaign, lack of multiplayer (look for the Share The Pain version for that,) some crashes and bugs, and not quite story-driven enough to be a non-linear game. However, these flaws do not make it a bad game. I doubt anyone, even I, would consider this a classic, and most likely, it never will be. Notwithstanding, however, it is still a fun and unique experience taken on other first person shooters of the time and of the day. I recommend giving it a try! Expand

Technically? Bad. Voice acting? Awful. Story? Let's not even talk about it.

But this game is worth playing. It's controversial fun. Set people on fire, kick around their dead bodies before pissing on them. If you can't look past the technical issues, you're not playing this game the right way.

While certainly the older I got, the more my tastes in video games became more refined, I honestly never changed my mind so much about this game, even after playing widely acclaimed games such as Portal 2, being introduced to the magnificent world of indie games development and understanding what a real good game is. Postal 2 might fail for matters such as the graphics or the cheesy in-game references to the authors of the game (I'm talking about the various cameos of Vince Desi and the totally random Mike J as the final boss of Apocalypse Weekend), or even the grotesque and trashy sense of humor that seems to be only half ironical and self aware, but... it's fun! And I find this aspect to be seriously underrated by both official reviews and user made ones. It is also not often mentioned and quite noteworthy how the expansion Apocalypse Weekend and modding (in particular a very big mod called AWP made by a certain Kamek) really bring the game to a whole new level of addictiveness and gore for those who are into it, but it's mostly there for the laughs and the sake of exaggeration, don't get too offended for that, of all the possible dumb people who thought at that time that lame "kill Bin Laden" jokes could be funny (and subsequently made flash games and poor parodies about it) and people who think self-insertions are a good idea, these guys were probably the best ones. The result is a good game with some minor **** stains. Hell, it has Gary Coleman and tazmanian cats as gun silencers! Also... piss? (Oh, and by the way the AIs in this game are actually better than plenty of stupidly made AIs from much more famous games such as Skyrim, not much of a point but still worth mentioning) Expand

The game is like Quake 3 in graphics and if it came out two to 3 years ago that would be fine. It uses the Unreal 2 engine but not to great effect. Yes, it's graphic and its a bastard son of the GTA games except theres nothing to drive. People have said alot about the load times and yes it takes under 60 sec to load however sometimes you have to go through 6 or 7 zones in a mission and take away from the action. It's low brow and crude and some like that however the lack of humor other than immature and child like pee pee and cha cha jokes. Skins are ok but every woman has the same body and the damage system is very much lacking. Shoot someone in the leg or head the seem to take the same amount of damage. This game is for the crowd that either never gets it (you know what I mean) or hasn't had it in a long time. It's all tease but the tease is flawed by dated graphics, repetive load times and trying to rip off GTA games but with the class. Nothing is really funny other than RWS trying to be funny. Not a good game and theres other games that really need to be played. Like XXX BMX its all show no go. Expand

Postal 2, despite its novelty subject and characters, is just an average shooter. The main character (a trenchcoat wearing, trailer park resident) is extremely shallow and not particularly interesting. The game occurs over a five day period from Monday through Friday. Each day, the player is tasked with completing 3 or 4 simple errands, like retrieving an alternator for his car or picking up milk for his wife. The missions consist of "go there and get this" scenarios. That's the game in a nutshell. The game would be a complete waste of time, but it does have some redeeming value. I enjoyed exploring the game world, and I thought that the weapon selection was interesting. Also, pissing on someone and watching them vomit or feeding dog biscuits to a pitbull, and then sicing it on your enemies never get old. Even with these novel ideas, I had to force myself to finish the game. The ending was lackluster and disappointing. Graphics and sound were good. After beating the game, I was encouraged to play through the game again at a harder level, but I declined and uninstalled. Replaying this game definately did not interest me. Expand

Postal 2, it's like a joke that starts off funny, but then you hear it so many times and you just want it to fry! That's exactly what the relationship between the first two were. What's the difference? It never was funny to start off with. That's how terrible Postal 2 is...

Postal 2... can't be explained, must be experienced. The self-irony RWS put into this is amazing. This game is so bad that it becomes absolutely hilarious to play. A really fun game. Cant really be compared to any other game. Its a game in its own rights.

I highly doubt this game really is as offensive as it was made out to be. It's only that games rarely are expressive beyond social protocol. If not ,excessive violence, mild sex and language is used. This is the only game to really express humour as is with no apology and I am thankful for it. Mostly because more games should take more risk in being an art form and not a generic, This doesn't mean that all games have to be ridiculous. However there has been few games that have been made regardless of who will like it.

    Thank you for postal 2.

Postal 2 is a perfect free roaming game.. you have jobs to do during a day and you must forfill them such as pissing on people. getting Gary Coleman's autograph or getting people to sign petitions. The game is fantastic fun! the downside to this is that multiplayer is Extremely laggy. and it is hard to play with friends when this is happening.. overall postal 2 is a funny game.. successful on its own terms and it a great time for many people to enjoy. If you have a sense of humor then I recommend this game first things. if you laugh alot then this game is for you. of course you could say the graphics are horrible but the thing is.. It's a quick fun romp that is more pleasure than pain. But, the utter lack of tact make it more of a play on marketing rather than a quality FPS.
  2. If the controversial content isn't enough to turn off players, the game's annoying technical problems will. The length and frequency of load times between levels is the biggest problem.
  3. Until someone boxes up syphilis and tries to sell it at retail, Postal 2 is the worst product ever foisted upon consumers. [July 2003, p.90]
