If you're coming in looking for a storyline rich in atmosphere and style, something bathed in immersion, something fresh, you will not be disappointed.
  2. A fun, visually captivating game.

As a whole, Core has once again stepped off the beaten path to give a gameplay experience that few other games can touch.
  4. The attempt to put an emphasis on "adventure" in this "action/adventure" is most commendable; as is the use of a party with different skills.
  5. An uneven experience -- above average when it comes to puzzles and level design, and below average when it comes to combat and artificial intelligence.
  6. Exhausting, repetitious gameplay. [Feb 2002, p.100]

Just what I've been looking for, a FPS style game that taxes the brain and lets you play with a friend through the main story.

Great game if you're looking for some intelligent puzzles mixed in with some action. True, the combat system is clunky, but it can still get intense. Also, the atmosphere is very creepy at times. A very underrated game! Expand
