  • Summary: Reservoir Dogs is based on the 1992 Quentin Tarantino-directed classic movie about five total strangers who are brought together to carry out a diamond heist. The robbery goes wrong when the alarm is tripped and the cops show up. In the ensuing confusion, four of the robbers make it back to their warehouse rendezvous but it is quickly apparent that one of them is an undercover police officer – but which one? Staying true to the original plot, this intense, third person shooter follows the progress and planning of the famed diamond heist while filling in some of the cliffhanger questions from the film: What happened to Mr. Blue and Mr. Brown? Where did Mr. Pink hide the diamonds? What actually happened at the heist? These questions and more will be answered as the game unfolds and according to the player's tactics. Players get to fill the shoes of each iconic character in the film as they relive the Reservoir Dogs experience complete with the movie’s trademark style and wit. The game will also feature the full and original soundtrack from the movie – the super sounds of the seventies brought alive with the thematic "Little Green Bag", "Stuck in the Middle with You" and more. 1. If you're a fan of the film and of violent games, then you should really enjoy yourself. It's got style, class and lots and lots of violence, as well as a kick ass soundtrack.
  2. Perhaps most importantly, it’s fun. Repetitive and glitchy in places maybe, but that hook will keep you reeling out those sweary one liners at hostages and putting security guards’ faces through vending machines until the conclusion.
  3. The tie-in with the movie makes this average game good but let’s not forget that at the core this is just an average game. If anything it makes me want to see the movie again.
  4. The film tie-in adds interest, but it's too linear and we've seen it all before. [Nov 2006, p.102]
  5. Sadly, developer Volatile misses the mark. [Jan. 2007, p.63]
  6. This promising material is all remorselessly forced through the sausage-grinder of inept execution... About as much fun as having your ear cut off. [Nov 2006, p.77]
  7. Just when it seemed the industry had figured out how to turn some movies into fun gameplay experiences, with Reservoir Dogs, its as if they haven’t learned a thing since "E.T."

May be not the best action game of all time, but certainly giving it a 50 score by metacritics is unjust, where 10 dozen other shooters gets much higher score with much poor gameplay than this (e.g HALO which gets a whopping 83). Therefore I give 'Reservoir Dogs' a score of "8". Expand

I don't care if some characters of the movie aren't in the game and don't mind if the options are not what I expext from a pc-game, because I love the admosphere in the game. Walking on a sunny day in the streets, being bad. I feel the sun burning. I know there are lots of other games that bring that asmosphere too and I like those games also!! (Far Cry, Crysis). Expand
