Sacrifice Image
  • Summary: Sacrifice provides a truly fresh approach in the 3-D RTS genre, allowing players to act as both commander and combatant over huge, real-time, generated landscapes in single or multiplayer modes. Wizards will not be disappointed as Sacrifice serves up over 50 spells and creatures. [Interplay]

  1. You find a spectacularly violent and wonderfully thrilling adventure composed of epic, earth-shattering battles between deities' champions, fought in a dreamlike landscape as weird and varied as it is beautiful.
  2. If William Blake made a videogame, it would be this. If that isn't a recommendation, nothing is.

It's not a title with an immediate pull, you'll have to work at it to get something back, but it does present a breath of originality that we've been looking for some time.

  1. One of that gems of video games that will last there forever. This game is a classic itself, it doesn't need admiration or sequels (for the moment I was thinking how Bethesda would do Sacrifice 2. THE HORROR!). This game is unique, universal, brilliant. A truly innovative title, mixing action-adventure gameplay with elements of simple tactics and strategy. Unbelievably good controls (but you need to learn how they work, half an hour and you are playing as smooth as it possible), making battles entertaining and fun - but still challenging. Huge replayability connected with other gods and units they will give us. Some different endings. Brilliant voice acting and design - the climate is just killing us with its greatness from the very first moment. One of the best games ever created. Expand

  2. A very much underdog game it got passed up by a lot of others and that truly saddened me, this game has a mix of RTS and a magical FPS system too it, you're down in the fight and controlling the units is surprisingly easy for not being above the action. The game is charmingly funny and while the story is not the most engaging thing in the world it is quite fun to play through many times over for the branching and changed story lines. Many different endings phenomenal voice acting (including Tim Curry) It is quirky fun and an overall enjoyable game and is in fact one of my favorites of all time. Expand

Pain in the a$$ to play. Hard to figure out what's going on. The game itself is impressive and the graphics are nice, but the implementation and controls can leave you befuddled and frustrated. I never want to hear the words "your creatures are dying" ever again. Expand
