  1. Not many games in this genre are released with a $20 price tag, so some gamers out there might not really know how to deal with a game that is a little light on the content but much lighter on the price.
  2. SiN is actually something of a guilty pleasure. It's over far too quickly and feels rather unsophisticated, but I enjoyed it anyway, a bit like I enjoy...eating hotdog. [June 2006, p.62]

Sin Episodes: Emergence is bland and repetitive yet frequently funny and sometimes entertaining game. The game remains start to finish a very standard first-person shooter albeit one with ragdoll physics and shiny explosions.
  4. This is a pretty-looking, short, budget-priced, by-the-numbers futuristic shooter that's most notable for its episodic nature and its old heritage.

This game was highly under-rated. The action is a rapid, adrenaline rush with vivid, constantly changing environments. There should have been a Episode 2, but unfortunately, there wasn't. I have replayed this game multiple times and get a rush every time. The graphics are excellent and the game-play addictive. The main character is you, essentially, and playing with you is a fem fatale that will not only knock your socks off, but she can kick butt and is an an enjoyable companion to play with. Everything about this game was A+. Highly recommended. Expand

It is excellent game... I hope to grab some games for the steam... However, I had some issue about the weapons.... I prefer more heavy weaponry... for example: chain guns and rocket launcher that has the Heatseeking guidance head and laser guided missiles.... These current weapons that was offered in this game are useless if used to attack the big monsters like one in last level and also are useless in attacking the aircraft... I kept running out of ammos if I attack against the aircraft.... The aircraft kept flying around avoiding the ammos that I intend to hit the aircraft. Expand the weapon choices.... add on the heavy weapons and aslo add on the energy based weapons that is used in the Sin!!! Expand

I don't care about SIN 1 or multiplayer for SIN 1. If U do, then it might be worth it??? I got this game just because of of the Steam Engine. I LOVE THE STEAM ENGINE!!! The game play was not bad. The story was good. It would have been great if they had made the game twice as long or charged half the price. $20 is too much. Maybe episidoe 2 will be half off to "Emergence" buyers. This is the type of game U get in a software bundled package as an extended play demo for the real game that is 3 or 4 times longer. I guess that is why they call them "EPISODES" :-). I am not mad that I got it, but I wish I had waited to get 4 or 5 episodes at one time bundled together for around $30 or $40. At least I would have something to do for more than 5 or 6 hours on default settings and a few more on hard the second time I played it. You need to start this game on it's hardest level the first time so U will get U're $'s worth of play!!! I had to go back and play it again on it's hardest setting just to see if it took any longer? The A.I. is pretty kool.

P.S. I am sure I will be first in line to get the next episode :-)

Sin Emergence is an average game at best. Its short campaign is functional although a bit short (3 hours long) and its story is kind of bland. The gunplay works alright , neither good or bad. The enemy-variety is also ok but that has more to do with the short length of the game than the amount of different enemies. The gun-variety is however quite awful with only 3 standard guns to your disposal. If the game was a bit longer and if there were some more guns then i would say that this game is quite average. The current game is however a below average shooter that i would only recommend to bored fans of the genre who gets the chance to pick up the game for a cheap price. Perhaps that wouldn't be the case if the episodes-idea didn't get cancelled but that hardly affect the current games quality. Expand
