  • Summary: A story-driven, first-person adventure delivering over-the-top action, tense subterfuge, outrageous villains, and wry humor in the tradition of the great 1960's spy films and TV shows. [Fox Interactive]

  1. An all-around crowd pleaser with great weapons, exotic locales, and enough mystery to keep you coming back for more.
  2. So imaginative, colorful and funny that it serves to remind us how insufferably gloomy and witless most shooters are.
  3. The game is definitely a contender for game of the year. If a possible AI patch would be released, then this game would be a 10+.
  4. More a series of interlinked tale-telling vignettes than a proper blast-'em-up, the small-screen heir to Austin Powers' legacy is nonetheless one of the finest offerings in years.
  5. Austin Powers ain't got nothing on Cate Archer, the hottest digital chick with a gun since that old hag Lara Croft. [Feb 2003, p.94]
  6. An exceptionally cool game. It's got a fun, interesting story; intelligent level design; and provides a great mix of stealth and action.
  7. Although at times little more than a culmination of spy films and stereotypes over the last forty years, No One Lives Forever is an adventure and a half for the single player, and well worth investigating if you’re sick of world-threatening plots and Quake-engine oddities.

From the start to the very end, it only gets better and the experience grows exciting as very few games in history managed to do.

The main character, Cate Archer, is full of personality. Actually she is the definition of a " true hero".
The support characters are also very well developed, which is rare.

No One Lives Forever has a plot, and an incredible funny one, full of twists.
The level design is brilliant, and everything combined make you really feel into a 60's spy thriller.

The graphics are a bit dated because the game is old (even if the games cartoon look does help a lot), but every other aspect of the game holds really well today, specially art direction, sound effects, music and voice acting.

The plot is just fantastic and thats the main reason to play it.

Just play this game, not only because its an award winning classic (it won many game of the year awards), and one of the best shooters ever.

Play it because Im sure the whole experience will remain with you for years to come as this game is one to be remembered as one of the most special games ever made.

I played it in 2001 and I still havent found a game of the same level.

Thanks Monolith for such great classic, and I hope to live enough to play part 3!!! Do it Monolith, we need Kitt Harris in the role of our great hero Cate Archer again!

This game is outdated, and was when it came out. Deus Ex has better graphics AND gameplay already and it looks extremly poor these days. The This game is outdated, and was when it came out. Deus Ex has better graphics AND gameplay already and it looks extremly poor these days. The levels aren't anything special, some missions are interested but the characters are ugly rendered, interaction is done poorly, some dialogue is extremly boring and makes you skip them even the first time you play and finally the stealth part is fun and all, it hardly needs to be used and brute force is most effective against everyone. The intel items are pointless, rankings are pointless and overall there is no real reward for being a good spy. I have to admit that I had already seen NOLF2 before this game and I am obviously not impressed, but even so this game could have been polished some, 2000 is post-Quake3 people. Expand
