More dialogue or commentary from your character as you experiment would go a long way to nudging people in the right direction.
The Ward is like sitting at a boring party, listening to charmless people drone on and on about fantastic, faraway places.
It’s this emphasis on storytelling that eventually spells the demise for this title. The story just doesn’t flow consistently throughout the game.
The Ward was obviously inspired by LucasArts' classic "The Dig" and Inscape's underrated "Drowned God," only it's nowhere as good or as innovative as either title.
Hardcore adventure types might enjoy it only because there are so few options these days, but anyone else will find the irritating puzzles, well, irritating, and will want to heave the CD out the window.
Simply isn't interesting enough to merit sticking it out that long.
