• Summary: Turok is an epic, story-driven first-person shooter set on a dark, mysterious planet in the future. Players take on the role of Joseph Turok, a former black ops commando, now part of an elite special forces squad, known as Whiskey Company, which is on a mission to take down a war criminal – Turok’s former mentor, Roland Kane. Set on a planet inhabited by Kane and his Mendel-Gruman Corporation soldiers, Turok must use his elite military training to elude Kane’s well-trained army and the ravenous, unpredictable dinosaurs, huge insects and other massive creatures that populate the environment. 1. A good start that quickly falls off into a discombobulated mess of the story's true purpose but is successful in constantly delivering hordes of baddies to tear apart.

There's no doubt that Turok can be fun, but ultimately, the feeling of satisfaction that comes with slitting a raptor's throat or pulling off a headshot with your bow is lost in the shuffle of swarming enemies, less than stellar visuals and a story that disappears.
  3. Well thought out, well made and generally cool game that altogether lacks any inspiration other than the original Turok. For adrenaline it relies on the masterfully directed shootouts and jungle close encounters with tons of muscle and pointy teeth. [June 2008]

Excellent game play I received grand satisfaction for slitting as many dinosaur throats as I could... The story line is sketchy but who really cares when you get to kill dinosaurs. Expand

  2. A very average FPS. The graphics are a bit dated by today's standards (foliage especially) but the game play is fun and fast paced. Though the checkpoint save method can be a pain and the enemy AI is as dumb as they come, the "3 Star" action film feel and ability to knife dinosaurs more than makes up for it. Turok is old enough now that it can be had for a few dollars, and it's well worth playing at that price range. Set your expectations right and this title can offer some really good times. Expand

It start nice, with dinosaurs and large landscape. Too bad that the story is almost non-existant, and the fixed checkpoint system is true hell, since you can go on with almost 10minutes and dozens of enemy killed before reaching one (with means doing again and again AND AGAIN the same sequence only for some moments of bad luck). Graphic is ok, sound is ok, gameplay is "ok".... i give it a value of 10bucks, not a dollar/euro more. Expand
