  1. The game is enjoyable. Unfortunately, aside from the mix of fantasy and historical truth, there is little to make this game stand apart from other WWII RTS games.
  2. The pattern of play - building a base, waging war - has ended up as middle-of-the-road as a Tiger on a country lane. [June 2007, p.88]
  3. Overall, War Front isn't a spectacular game and achieves average scores on most criteria. However, die-hard RTS fans may find the campaign suitably entertaining and worth the purchase price.
  4. Bonus points for finally taking World War 2 in a different direction, Digital Reality. Much of the basics are intact here and make for some worthy game time. Now lose the gawky first-person mode, make the AI respond properly to enemy action, and give your viewers a macroscopic view of how this alternate history is affecting those beyond the battlefield.
  5. Its quick learning curve and devilish AI seem designed to appeal to the hardest of hardcore RTS fans. But it's just these sorts of fans who may be most weary of this somewhat derivative - though surprisingly solid title.

A game that has enough personality to stand above the crowd, at least until its audience tires of its regurgitated gameplay mechanics.
  7. 70
Certainly far from being groundbreaking, but if it’s an old-school RTS you’re looking for, then this may be worth checking out.
  8. Comment on the solid but surprise-free multiplayer mode recognising that most buyers will never touch it.
  9. The game blends historical reality and sci-fi elements really well, and while its gameplay is perhaps too comfortably familiar, the inclusion of high-tech future weapons makes the experience diverting.
  10. It's unfortunate when such a beautiful well designed game falls victim to stale gameplay. This game is definitely worth playing, It just lacks replayability.

Apart from throwing in a fair few wacky units converted from steampunk, like ice-spitting Rooski tanks and jetpack-wearing Nazis, and wrapping the game in the counter-factual, War Front is about as unique as a new series calling itself "How Clean is Your Wife?" [June 2007, p.75]
  12. 60
A collection of good ideas with muddled execution.
  13. 50
It turns out that War Front wants to do...something...online between missions, and because it can't do whatever that is, the game just crashes.

I actually enjoyed this game because it has an entertaining story (if some what cheesy), 3 factions with a nice variety of units and upgrades. Most of all I enjoyed the game's story how there is no Hitler and the Russians are the bad guys. Full Review »
