The game was designed to put control into the player’s hands and it succeeded. I thought the concept was incredibly epic and it didn’t leave me with that “I wish I could do this” feeling I get from some games. The power to play the game how you want is also a bonus. Also, if you’re looking for a game with a ton of replay value, Watch_Dogs will definitely do it. While I figured Watch_Dogs would have been a more sophisticated version of GTA, it isn’t. It can be frenetic at times and sometimes, that’s all you need to have some fun.

A delightful open-world playground with terrific graphics, lots of activities and brilliant hacking gameplay. Poor plotting and the lack of a more courageous treatment of its up-to-date scenario keeps Watch Dogs from playing in the same league as Rockstar's masterpieces.

Ubisoft's challange to GTA has succeeded and shows great potential. But the writers should have shown more courage to be different and remarkable.

Ubisoft's flagship title has a really, really repulsive protagonist. The entire storyline feels like it was cranked out of a automated story generator. On the positive side, Watch Dogs looks really good on PC, especially after modding the graphics to match the visual splendor of the early E3 demos. [Aug 2014]

Watch Dogs are no gaming revolution, but it is definitely a steady start of the new series. With respect to the game's size you may wink at technical issues which are like a really heavy stone attached to the PC version's ankle. However, you may wink at them but only to some extent. Enough is enough. Despite all that, Watch Dogs do not deserve to be damned considering it is an entertaining title, and although it does not run on 100% for the most part, let us say it does not pronouncedly fail in anything apart from its story.

Ubisoft has a less-than-stellar record with portings of its AAA games and Watch Dogs is no exception.

Watch Dogs is decent, but as the first entry into the series it’s still trying to find its niche and its style, and as a result it’s a little bland and all too repetitive. It successfully apes a lot of other games without ever really finding a way to stand out on its own, and the hacking isn’t really enough to push it past “me too” status.

My specs are the following,a gtx 780 and an i5 3570k processor. The major issue i am having with the game is that every 5-10 minutes, the game crashes and i have to restart the system in order for my pc to work again. I have the latest available drivers and i have even tried lowering the in game settings and reducing the overclock on my gpu but to no avail. The fps is ridiculous and even with the recommended settings used from geforce experience, it fluctuates from 40 to 60 fps consistently which makes the gameplay unbearable. So all i can do now is wait for a patch but until then I can't even play the game. I am so annoyed with ubisoft and their **** this is the worst port i have ever played. This game needs serious fixing ubisoft!!!Get you acts together jerks, i want my moneys worth!!! Expand

I think the driving is good and the damage is fine a. You wouldn't want the damage too realistic or you'd write the car off just from hitting a kerb. It runs fine on both my rigs however it will drop the framerate whilst driving.
My desktop is an i7 @4GHz, 16GB RAM, 780Ti GTX. On Ultra settings with every possible extra maxed out, I'm getting about 50-70 FPS. It varies, however when you drive fast it can drop to like 45 which creates quite a stutter. I used MSi afterburner (Rivatuner) to lock the framerate to 45 fPS and it plays completely smooth all the time with no stutter. 45 FPS is more than enough. The next gen consoles run it at 30 FPS.
My laptop is a i7@3.80GHz, 880M GTX and it runs it on the same settings (apart from it didn't have the highest AA options). I fix the framerate to 33 FPS to stop any stuttering and it plays silky smooth even at 33 FPS.

Could have been great but has AAAisms. Final encounter is a slomo QTE, Aiden is hypocritical, and I never got to see the goth girls boobs.Could have been great but has AAAisms. Final encounter is a slomo QTE, Aiden is hypocritical, and I never got to see the goth girls boobs.

Seriously though, some elements are **** stupid. Yes the AI is pretty damn good. Some mechanics like hiding in your car are awesome, but most times the game is just damn inconsistent.

How is it that enemies who don't know who I am are able to get alerted because they see me? This is in public, in broad daylight, and unless Aiden is wearing some invisible sign that only enemies can see that says "Shoot me I'm the main character", he looks just like every other joe walking around.
Nikki is broken out in a stealth sequence that you direct her in, kinda like in Blops 2 with the SR71 scene. Just shooting enemies would have been more fun.

Legend of Zelda-style zoom ins. Seriously I think every time a new enemy walked into the fray it required its own 10 second clip of me watching them enter. Hell there was one time in a campaign mission when the last remaining bad guy outside a warehouse was supposed to drive off, initiating a chase sequence. The game required me to watch him drive ~100 yards from the warehouse to the street before I could control Aiden again.

The game yelling at me to stay within the mission zone, with timers if I leave it. Seriously wtf.

Gears of War slow walk. Remember how in GoW Marcus has to walk super slow to talk on the phone. This game does that... a lot.

Zoom in on vehicle kills. If you take down a vehicle using your hacks, it zooms in on that vehicle in slo-mo, which since their often behind you, causes an inordinate amount of car crashes/civilian deaths when the camera returns to your perspective.

Story from a high level is awesome, but the details make no sense. Literally everyone in the city knows you're the vigilante before your sister does. Hell during one mission where you need to prevent some dudes from telling on your identity (even though they only saw your face and don't know your name) I had a lady on the street say "Hey you're Aiden Pearce, the vigilante". Wtf.

Also, despite the fact that the FREAKING RADIO says Aiden's the vigilante but has the support of the people, when your nemesis posts that to public tv, everybody goes bat **** crazy and tries to call the cops on Aiden.

Side note, somebody deserves a medal for Lucky Quinn's character design. He's perfect.

Never had a chance to earn points, 0/10 wake the F up Ubisoft, your brand is tanking over DRM that only hurts paying customers and offers literally zero benefit to the consumer. Yes I know there's points and unlock rewards; but Ubi is extracting those reward elements from a normal game, and sticking it into its DRM; completely unnecessary; let me unlock things for the games I play because of things I do in the game, not add some unnecessary reward points layer just to justify really bad and invasive DRM that has in the past not even let me play games I own because it can't connect to its own servers even though I'm online, or the stupid Uplay client crashes in the background. Clean up your act Ubi; here's an old addage about customer service for ya "Ignore your customers and they'll go away"
