The gameplay Whispering Willows delivers serves its purpose, but it’s clear the developer’s aspirations were to immerse the player and draw them in. On that point, this freshman effort is a success.

Pretty simple and short, Whispering Willows stands out from the indie crowd through its beautiful art and compelling story.

An enjoyable adventure with intriguing puzzle elements and open-world structure (without a map).

You will enjoy the beautifully painted graphics. You will experience the charming atmosphere as you will read the stories of the deceased occupants of the Mansion and that's all. No serious challenge, no real horror.

Coming to Steam from OUYA, the game brings an exciting story but simple gameplay.

The plot is quite interesting, and the graphic is lovely, but the gameplay is way too slow. Still, if you are looking for a simple and short experience, Whispering Willows can be a decent suggestion.

It means that for all Whispering Willows’ atmosphere it can’t deliver what it sets out to achieve. I don’t often say games need to be longer but here, the experience needs more locations, more detail and more time to fill out its fiction to be able to tackle the themes it wants to tell.

This game has beautiful art and a fantastic soundtrack and atmosphere. Some of the puzzles are a bit simple, but it never detracted from the overall world and aesthetics. Whispering Willows is incredibly immersive and a gorgeous game all around. Expand

Seriously one of the best indie games to come out this year. At first it looked a little cartoony, but the story is really well written, gameplay is fantastic (and actually original!), and the environments are surprisingly creepy. I recommended playing this if you're an indie gamer. Expand

spooky atmospheric game with great art and concept - not that many collaborative games out there especially ones where you're working with a ghost. wouldn't say horror outright but more a moody piece. and different that it has a female lead. worth it. Expand

I have found myself drawn into the game over time, all the elements of art/lighting/sound, some of which are subtle, give me an unsettling feeling (in a good way) that leads me right into the story. The spirit form mechanic offers another chance at exploring further into the narrative and a slight change of pace. A lot of thought went into this game to make me feel like I was a part of it Expand
