Add–on delights old players with its complexity and incline to the past. It also offers an ideal start for new players. [Issue#248]

It's been a while since I had this much fun in World of Warcraft. Draenor is not only very pretty, but also packed with fun quests. The Warlords are the ultimate bad guys and you truly feel called upon to stop them. Finally, garrisons are an addictive and well-integrated addition. Warlords of Draenor is a very complete expansion, which offers the perfect entry point for newcomers, but also provides veterans with enough to give the MMORPG another chance.

Warlords of Draenor provides a new look and feel to an old franchise. It may disappoint some of the hardcore in its apparent simplicity, but for the regular and new players, this expansion shows a lot of what made the game so appealing when it launched 10 years ago.

One of the best expansions we've ever seen for World of Warcraft.

A world full of heroes, dangers and adventures with a story deeply embedded onto the lore of Warcraft. The best add-on so far.

Assuming you can get in, this is definitely one of World of Warcraft’s better expansions.

By far the best-looking World of Warcraft expansion yet, and it's filled with quality content. However, the character and stat overhaul has left the gameplay feeling a little too simple and rote.

Warlords of Draenor is an awesome expansion. I've been playing since WoW launch and WoD is one of the better xpacs. The story line is great, game play and art superb. The new Garrison quest line is addicting as things come in WoW. I almost didn't get this expansion because of all the negative reviews people were giving it, glad I didn't let them get to me. This xpac is worth it. Expand

AIgnoring the slow and buggy launch this expansion in my opinion has offered the most since BC. Garrisons are what makes this xpac shine. A long with better story telling and immersion. I am the kind of person that normally skips all of the quest reading material etc. But this expansion did something right for me. It gives you the story through cinematics while your leveling up and helps to immerse you in to their story

In close my favorite xpac for balance and functionality is BC but my favorite for immersion and overall storytelling and fun factor has to be WoD.

    Cheers.

I changed my initial 2/10 to a perfect 10. Now that the glitches are away, this game is simply the BEST WOW since Vanilla.
Quests are crazy dynamic, Challenge is back. The art is stunning, the music is awesome and quite frankly I don't know any other game that took me by surprise as this one,... except perhaps Vanilla WOW...

Good God what changes Blizzard has made.

Putting the expansion's launch issues aside, WoD is a decent game with both new and nostalgia-provoking content. Seems like WoW's philosophy has changed in recent years - from a story-driven, cooperative, and customizable experience to a more basic, and some would say, simplistic MMO. Now let's look at the breakdown:

    1. Graphics: 7/10 - new models and more detailed terrain. The art style is preserved, and zones and dungeons definitely look better. The graphics is not intended to look realistic at all.
    2. Gameplay: 6/10 - multiple spells and skills removed. Game is now more basic. Less customization and class uniqueness. However, some may appreciate this simplification.
    3. Story & Quests: 5/10 - story is engaging, but questline is very linear compared to previous expansions, where you were given numerous questing options and players can choose based on those options. Once a player levels to 100, he has experienced most of the leveling content.
    4. New Features & Community: 4/10 - relatively new features such as LFD and LFR, while convenient, have almost eliminated the need to communicate with other players. This allows more players access to dungeons and raids. However, considering this is a Massively Multiplayer Online Game, WoW should encourage players to interact and cooperate, instead of the other way around. Thus, the community has, in my opinion, declined in terms of demeanor. In the past, >85% of players were polite and helpful, whereas now, it's around 40-50%. Compared to other online games, WoW's community is now average, and not excellent as before. With the introduction of garrisons and linear questlines with cutscenes, WoW has become more of a single player experience.
    5. Music: 7/10 - great compositions and fits context well.

Overall, a solid game, though with a totally different philosophy and a new direction.

Blizzard has stopped listening to their player base and we could all be in for a very long an agonizing expansion, that is assuming theBlizzard has stopped listening to their player base and we could all be in for a very long an agonizing expansion, that is assuming the players are not just going to un-sub. If they can get out of this expansion with still +6 million subscribers, that is going to be a miracle.

The ability pruning made a lot of classes boring to play. The removed flying because they believed that jumping puzzles added more to the game than an efficient method of travel. In game professions are now almost useless and 2 of them are now completely useless (herbalism and mining). Randomly generated stats should have never been introduced in an MMO. There is no longer any meaningful incentive to run 5 man content every day. Reputation grinds are just that, grinds that offer meaningless rewards.

The short of it is, there really is to do anymore in WoW is raid and play garrisonville. You log in every day, collect work orders, start new work orders, send followers out on missions that take anywhere from 45minutes to 24 hours, then log out.
