  • Summary: Worms Forts: Under Siege! puts players in command of a crack team of up to four fort-dwelling worms. Set in the cartoon environments that will be very familiar to Worms fans, players direct their worm garrison to construct defenses to maximize strategic advantages, expand castles, seize valuable victory locations and of course, build massively destructive weapons to eliminate their opponents' fortifications. Players can test their mettle in a single-player game by battling through the 20 missions, or they can take on up to four friends in the frenzy of destruction that is Fort vs. Fort mode. Massive weapons and massive destruction, including catapults, cannons, giant crossbows, bows and arrows, rocket launchers, air strikes, napalm... even nuclear strikes; For the first time in the history of the series, players can build their own castle, including towers, walls, citadels and keeps. Each building will offer unique special powers and weapons, and poor choices may leave players lagging in the arms race. [Acclaim] Expand

  1. The fun really does lie in the multiplayer, because the drunken laughs my friends and I have had with this game have been fantastic and they went on and on into the early hours.
  2. While it's not as polished as most modern offerings, it's priced to sell and still raises grins like nothing else.
  3. It may take a while for you to get into Worms Forts. I didn't really like it at first but like a tapeworm, it eventually grew on me.
  4. Forts Under Siege might have enough reward on offer but the series is still relying on gamers to meet it halfway by investing ample time and patience in learning its demanding intricacies. [Dec 2004, p.112]
  5. Suffers the pains incurred through fundamental flaws that impact the gameplay quality and the overall experience a gamer can have.
  6. And now, dressed up in this sorry state, trying to excuse itself like a dad in a night club, there's not even that to defend it. [May 2006, p.97]
  7. It barely raises a smile, reducing most gamers to a grim comatose zomebie-state, the only sign a life now a dull flicker of hate in their glazed, cold eyes. [Christmas 2004, p.107]
