• Summary: The first-ever Battlefield console installment drops players into the heat of battle on the high tech frontlines, entering a new modern era of combat with more firepower and new expansive environments. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of over 30 vehicles, including tanks, helicopters and fast attack vehicles, to engage in major conflicts with up to 24 players in some of the largest online battles on the PlayStation 2 console. (Online play requires the PlayStation 2 console, a broadband connection, memory card, and network adaptor for the PlayStation 2). Voiceover communication is also supported via USB headset. Players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, the Chinese, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. The game features large and detailed environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the globe's most notorious hot spots, allowing players to engage in multiplayer battles that could be ripped straight from tomorrow’s headlines. Battlefield: Modern Combat also includes over 70 state-of-the-art modern weapons and advanced weapon systems, including heat-seeking missiles and laser designated bombs. Additionally, with in-game success, players increase their rank and garner promotions in a persistent online world. [Electronic Arts] Expand

This PC war-tastic juggernaut comes to a console near you sporting a surprisingly meaty single-player experience, as well as its trademark clusterf..k multiplayer.
  2. A must have for fans of combat games, multiplayer games, and games in general.
  3. The addition of hotswapping makes the campaign mode a pleasant diversion for a few hours, but after a while you're going to want to go online and you're probably going to be let down by the lack of gameplay modes and technical problems that EA is working on, but has yet to fix.

Single player isn't worth the time afta u play online.. Altho be warned, everyone online seem to be able to play blindfolded and still kill you. 24/7 addicts are clearly visible. Online is immense tho n the gameplay is fast n furious. I get the feeling I'll need a hell of alot more practice before going anywhere near the top 5 players in a game. Expand

While the single player is not really anything to write home about. The online multiplayer is where the real fun is at. So if you don't have online just rent it first but if online is your thing this is a must have. Expand

The reoson why I gave this game a 5/10 and not 1 10/10 is beacause the campaigne mode sucked big. The gameplay 10/10, sounds 10/10 multiplayer 10/10 but campaign mode -8/10. The campaign was so bloody short. I finished it in like 3 hours! It even took me longer to finish sly racoon! What also sucks is that it has no offline muliplayer what the ****?! And as usuall it has the typical story about a war going on with Asia and America zzzzzzzz. Even though you can use other military types like EU and MEC, you can only use it in multiplayer BOOOOOOO! The game needs a lot of work. Buy the Pc version instead (highly advised)! Expand
