  1. This is a markedly better game than "Call of Duty 2: Big Red One" and the finest World War II gameplay on the current-generation consoles.
  2. COD 3 pulls out all the stops to put you as close up to the action as possible, even allowing up to 24 players to experience full-on war in the online mode.
  3. The action is unbelievably intense and the historical material is researched and presented in a way that borders on being educational.
  4. Luckily for you, Call of Duty 3 for PS2 is actually very similiar to its next-gen sibling - and, in some ways, it's even better. [Feb. 2007, p.80]
  5. The most atmospheric and intense WW2 shooter we've played, hampered only by linear warzones and poor mini-games. [Christmas 2006, p.95]
  6. The visuals are very well done and the sound is simply incredible, especially with the score it has.
  7. So if you're looking for an all-out melee, then Call of Duty 3 is your game. If you want something that's somewhat stealth mission-based, then you might want to give "SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Combined Assault" a whirl.

Well simply...great...I played mostly all of the call of duty games, and i have to say this one is a succesful sequel to cod games...Greg B. says that the game is disappointing because it doesn't focus on only one fighting country...well the game explains how these different countries fight through the german dangers...and occasionally find a solution...mostly war games focus on american divisions...but call of duty 3 is not....you stiil get american parts...and in fact they are pretty cool...but the game shows how all countries fight and then end up to the last battle....and the last battle is fought by Americans.... COD 3, surprised me since I saw the first trailer, which at the time were broadcast on MTV, and as soon as I saw it, I thought "That game should be mine!", And so it was as a Christmas gift. It was the time of the next-gen, and time of the PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. However, I had with me the PS2, and it was with it that I discovered the fantastic game that I wanted so much: complete pleasure. Although on PS2, COD3 had an amazing graphics and sound like the next-gen counterpart , that fully overwhelmed you. A true brand new graphics engine.

But there was something different in COD 3: playing I felt completely transported in the fury of battle (as promised by Treyarch), with fellow soldiers who were firing or dying, smart enemies, destructible environments and with the sound of a soundtrack by Oscar. Also were present the "quick time events" where you performed actions like placing an explosive charge, or a combat against an enemy soldier. And these ones were really fun.

It was impossible not to be drawn into a game so well done, also adding a beautiful story of men at the front in Normandy, that leaves you speechless with breathtaking sequences, just as television shows such as Band of Brothers. Playing with Call of Duty 3, allowed me to take me to the forefront, as if I was really there. And I liked it a lot.

One of the greatest fps of all times. Golden and true days of Call of Duty.

No kick option, no round restart, not allowed to change the game name. I find it annoying having to end the game everytime I want to change maps, or go make a new room altogether. I really enjoy COD2 for all these features. As well for all the hype for this game, i am surprised at the lack of weapons and maps. I must say, i am overall really disappointed with COD3. Expand

Flicking right stick up-down rapidly to move a mortar or an AT gun is pretty boring and some things are historically inaccurate. Its fun at stages but there was more room for improvement. Expand
