• Summary: Marcus Damon is both a smart 14 year old and an undefeated street fighter, but he does not fight with his fists alone. As a member of the secretive DATS (Data Squad), Marcus and his team examine the mysterious disappearance of numerous kids. During the course of the investigation, the Seven Demon Kings arrive, wreaking havoc across the world. As Marcus, it is up to players to find the missing kids all the while defeating the deadly Seven Demon Kings and their evil minions. Spanning over a dozen stages with a storyline that parallels the cartoon, players can team up with more than 140 Digimon characters to battle against evil and save the world. As gamers increase in skill and find new items, so too can their Digimon be upgraded through leveling up and "Digivolution." With over 250 items to collect and complex puzzles to solve, Digimon World Data Squad represents the evolution of the common RPG on the PS2. [Namco Bandai Games] Expand

  1. I'll be honest here: Data Squad really isn't going to make a lot of converts. [Oct 2007, p.60]
  2. Digimon World: Data Squad is a crushingly repetitive and generally joyless role-playing game.
  3. Data Squad has too much text for a five-year-old to enjoy it, too many annoyances for a 10-year-old to be amused. And the storyline is lacking.

I only got to play world 1 and 3 and this seems a lot like world 3 to me, and what I saw of world 2. what I would have liked though is to see the player against player option that world 1 had, but alas, once again it doesn't have it. anyways this game is pretty neat, and can be a challenge. but not many people would play it unless they were big RPG fans and/or digimon fans. I am just glad they still have greymon in it. was definitely a weird thing to see the show and they have agumon digivolve not into greymon but GEOgreymon. but I guess they did something similar for there explanation to skullgreymon and metalgreymon, except the champion form of agumon (greymon) doesn't get forced to digivolve and it isn't the champion form of agumon but the rookie form of agumon, which is agumon. anyways what I have gotten to play is pretty neat. still wish they would add the palyer against player thing they had for world 1, really liked that option Expand
