  1. With exceptional action, puzzles and scripting as well as good graphics and minimal loading times Extermination is a great and imaginative new addition to the horror/survival genre that will teach even Resident Evil a few tricks and ranks as Sony’s best PS2 game to date.
  2. Although it isn’t the best game in the world, Extermination really strikes a chord in me for being such a good evolution of the horror adventure genre.

It's mechanics and gameplay may annoy you, but if you liked John Carpenter's version of "The Thing," you should be able to buy into (and enjoy) the storyline.

An above average game and nothing more...It's not that bad, though. Not bad at all.
  5. It's unoriginal and very short (I was able to complete it in a couple of days without really trying to beat it), but a gas while it lasts and home to some of the nicest-looking and best-renderd FMV cinemas your puny little eyes have ever seen.
  6. A solid entry in the genre, but it doesn't do much that hasn’t been done before in games from Konami or Capcom.
  7. 40
Survival horror veterans will be drawn to Extermination right up to the very end, but casual gamers might find this title hard to swallow because of its inconsistent presentation, low replay value and mediocre story.

I think this game is freakin awesome. I love the marine corps and that gave the game a huge boost. Great job to the creators.

where is number 2? I want #2! This game is great and is a perfect competitor to resident evil with ALOT of opertunity and potential. A great story, cast and more. Very scary, sad and memorial story. Please sony, rerelease it on PS3 in HD or make a sequel for fans. Many fans are out there for this game... Collapse

It was good except for the graphics and the fact the it just got to frustrating at some points.

The two drawbacks were the game was too short and it was relatively easy. But the sound effects and music was great and was more than fun enough to keep me glued to the set. Anyone who loves "Resident Evil" will love this game. Expand

I thought this game was really good. The controls are straight forward and easy to use. The interface is really user friendly. I love all the creatures (love to blow them apart) The music really adds to the suspence of the game. I would agree though that the game is still a little short and could be a little longer with more twists and unexpected turns. All in all, I would recommend this game to anyone who likes suspence filled shoot'm up games. Expand

This game sucks Bigtime. I don't understand How there's pleople who actually likes it. Is there really a person out there who thinks this game squeezes the power out of the ps2? That it's at least comparable to metal gear? That it's worth the same 49.99 bucks that games like metal gear solid or devil may cry are? This game is the mediocity of the programers in flesh and bone. It has ps1 graphics, and in case you didn't get it, it sucks Big Time!!! Expand
