  • Summary: Perhaps best described as a "Life Simulation," Save the Homeland's object is to successfully save the village from being turned into a resort. Construction begins in a year, so you must find a way to save your homeland before that. The game features nine possible successful endings. [Natsume]

Harvest Moon gets under your skin that way. You'd never think it would be half as much fun as it inevitably turns out to be...Take our word for it and give this one a try.
  2. Of all the Harvest Moon games, Save the Homeland easily has the most solid storyline.
  3. Immersive and fun. It's not the type of game you play to beat as fast as you can. It's the kind of game you'll play a little bit every week, for many, many weeks to come.
  4. A simplified interface and a stronger focus on plot may alienate some fans of previous games in the series, but there’s an outside chance it will broaden the appeal to a wider audience.

I was disappointed and if you are a fan of the HM games, you will be disappointed too.
  6. It’s the strangest example of pointless effort which turns out to be fun. Avoid real life chores to do virtual ones. That’s my motto!
  7. The potentially rewarding aspects of the game are hampered by an overly rigid structure that works at cross-purposes to its non-linearity.
