The most impressive looking and playing surf game ever created...If Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer doesn't spark a huge interest in videogame surfing, well then sh*t, nothing will.
  2. The digital beaches of the game are so close in look and feel to the real thing that I could almost smell the salt water.
  3. The career mode has a lot of depth, and pulling off all of the tricks in the spectacular looking waves is an absolute joy.

One humongous drawback to this otherwise seemingly outstanding surf game, however, is the ongoing slowdown.
  5. There’s still room for a more user-friendly control scheme and fun virtual surfing experience to come down the pike.
  6. The overall PS2 surfing champ. [Oct 2002, p.148]
  7. The whole game concept is worn and exhausted, the graphics are shallow, the gameplay is repetitive, and the sounds are poor.
