• Summary: Dedicated to creating a story and environment that is a true representation of graffiti culture, fashion pioneer Marc Ecko has enlisted 50 of the world's most elite graffiti artists to lend their best artwork and personal experiences to the game and consult with The Collective to give Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure the authentic look and feel of a real urban environment. The game creates its own genre of gameplay, combining combat, action, adventure and stealth. It uses a thrilling graffiti-driven framework to tell its story of self-expression and the fight for creative freedom. A thug, an outcast, a rebel...the lead character, Trane, is all of these in Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. He sets out to earn his street cred by getting his graffiti tag up throughout the politically oppressive city of New Radius but as events unfold, Trane becomes the unlikely leader of an urban revolution. The story's "Get In, Get Up and Get Out" gameplay mechanic offers gamers a unique arsenal of swift stealth and street fighting abilities to GET IN restricted areas of New Radius and battle through the city's rough streets; the dexterity and agility to scale any object in order to GET UP and place graffiti tags, spreading the message of rebellion; and the ingenuity to evade, escape and GET OUT. 1. Getting Up is like a breath of fresh air, never before seen in the games industry and implemented to a degree that should make it a must in any gamer's collection.
  2. A mediocre action-adventure with an excellent sense of style. If you love hip-hop and spray-paint, you should be playing this game, otherwise, this game is best left on the shelf.
  3. The possibility of this all coming together in a more flexible and engaging manner is still a welcome one. But, for a game based on a culture of reputation, craftsmanship and leaving a mark, Getting Up is one that'll pass by largely unnoticed. [Mar 2006, p.86]

This game is a beat'em-up/ stealth game there are no other games like this and it is a classic. when i first heard about this game i thought it would be crap as i hate hip-hop so i rented it insted of buying it straight away and found out that it was AWESOME!!!! went out and bought it straight after. cheesy but a good story. i have no idea why everyone is being so hard on this game. the only thing bad about it is that enemies can be a little too hard, them robot cops can be harder than bosses. buy it or miss out!!!! I gave this game a high rating because it is a very good game. The only reason I would expect others to give such a poor rating is due to the fact that their not too much interested in graffiti. I think to really enjoy this game to the full extent is too live in New York, or maybe another metropolitican city that would be compared to New York. 2 is you have to be into graffiti, and not just drawing on random papers when your on the phone or whatnot, i mean really really into graffiti, you know what pink dots are and the difference between a ny fat cap and a german fat cap. This game was a very good game, not great, just very good. The only reason i gave it that high of a rating was due to the fact that I have to try and balance it out because users gave it a 6.2 Expand

This isn't graffiti, just a marketing ploy to try to bring an underground act into mainstream so the mtv kids can eat it up. The game is glitchy and the fighting system isnt smooth enough, mostly buttonmashing. Go buy some silver and black from walmart and hit the streets. Expand
