  1. A solid brawler with a nice selection of new and familiar characters. It sports a great deal of interactivity with the environment, and gives a number of fighting styles to work with.
  2. The impressive amount of characters to play with, along with the striking character graphics and animations, gives the game a good presentational value, and the exciting boss battles and interactive levels make this an entertaining game that is worthy of at least a rental.
  3. Keep your expectations in check, and there's some fun in the mayhem. [Oct 2005, p.126]
  4. It doesn't have a riveting story, it's easy, the gameplay is stale and shallow – in short, and it offers nothing new.
  5. A good-looking game that should've focused on one thing above all others. It might've been a good four-player arena combat game; it could've done all right as a mission-based beat-'em-up; and it's just barely possible that this might've worked as a 3D platformer starring Marvel's characters. As a game that tries to be all of those things at once, it's about as fun as gargling mayonnaise.
  6. The area where the gameplay lacks is the variety on moves, combos, and just providing ways to keep gamers interested after the smoke and mirrors of the visuals wear off.
  7. With its horrible looks, non-existent gameplay and shallow controls, every possible effort should be made to avoid this. [Dec 2005, p.111]

This is a very fun game, I like it a lot. It's great for kids also, they may not get good at it, but they will still have a great time playing it. Expand

Although this game is good it does lack moves for character. after playing with all the Characters u eventualy realize that most of them are the same characters with the same move just in diferent skins. the story mode lacks creativity and the verses is great multy playing fun. one thing about the game that most people i think dont like is that it doesent have any origenal characters such as captian america the hulk the punisher mr fantastic ex. When it comes to multiplayer, this game is a lot of fun. The bad part is the so called "story " mode. They really tried hard to make it look like it has a story, but it doesn't.. They did make some story cut-scenes , but its a really poor effort. The missions are simplistic, very random, and laughably stupid. Kill 20 enemies, and destroy 30 objects , and repeating these kind of idiotic missions is not fun at all! The missions are played in the same arenas as in multiplayer, so other than unlocking some characters, there's no reason to torture yourself with it. There are some minor control problems, but nothing major, there"s a lot of extra marvel stuff for the fanboys, so altogether its an OK brawler game. Expand

What a piece of crap! Where's the gameplay? I heard Marvel was excited about this deal because they were going to get to keep the IP. Whoops! Way to sh*t the bed, EA! Expand
