With its abundance of cool unlockables, neat customization options, and strong amalgamation of strong RPG battle systems, I can easily recommend it to Mega Man X fans who are tired of being disappointed and are willing to try a little something different.
  2. 8 / 8 / 8 / 8 - 32 gold [Vol 816; 6 Aug 2004]
  3. While some old-school Mega-fans may find turn-based fighting monotonous, it definitely works here and the combat system is deep enough to satisfy even seasoned RPG gamers. [Nov 2004, p.92]
  4. Anyone looking for a sweeping epic with interesting characters or unique gameplay mechanics will be sorely disappointed by what it has to offer. [Nov 2004, p.120]
  5. While the crisp graphics and energetic battles work well, the dungeons are a chore and the plot is you usual Mega Man X bluster - weak in a five-hour platformer, unbearable in a full-length RPG. [Nov 2004, p.138]
  6. For all the cool special moves and boss fights, the heart of any RPG is the story. Sadly, Command Mission doesn't just fail in this area; it is a discotheque fire disaster with no survivors. This game's plot isn't merely bad - it's embarrassing and painful. [Oct 2004, p.128]

Even with superstrong "Hyper" mode and customizable weapons, it took everything we had to not fall asleep on our controller.

Mega man x command mission is the final entry in the series with all new characters and story line which SPOILER ALERT removes sigma as the big boss of this game. what makes this game good is how different it is. on a new system, new company in nintendo. they made a completely different game style. A classic RPG gameplay style which actually requires smarts and common sense. This isn't a game where u can just button mash the same move to win. The voice acting and cut-scenes are actually fantastic which is odd for a mega man game considering there past voice actors like mega man 8 and x4 and x7. This game is almost not even a part of the x series because it doesn't resemble anything like past X games in story or gameplay. Thats a good thing because if your sick of the X storyline you pick up this game and your in for a fresh experience with new bosses, over 10 new characters. This game has so much replay ability with all the hidden items and bonus boss battles. This game is exactly what you want from a classic rpg style game even though surprise the plot is like no other. my friends who hear this game go "oh that game meh" well 9/10 of them never played the game. this is a must pick up for any die hard mega man fan who want's a fresh experience. for a full review goto my youtube channel Jaredhipfn for the full review because i won't have a 5000 character limit Expand

I think I've played almost every game of his, and each one has been enjoyable or very fun. I think I would categorize this one somewhere in the middle. The main complaints I have about this game are the story and the music. I thought the story was incredibly shallow and uninteresting, and there are no real signs of character development. Even when one of my favorite characters died, I didn't really feel sad at all. I dunno if it was just the poor cutscene of his death, or the character himself. After a while, I found the music of the game to be quite monotonous. I was only humming about 1 or 2 tunes after I was done playing, and thats not too good for my standards, especially for a Mega Man game After all is said and done though, this game is really cool, despite its shallow story and mechanics (excluding the battle system; it's awesome). It's just a fun game to play, what more can I say? Expand
