  1. This game is a great baseball game that fans would and should get. One of the better baseball games I’ve played dating back to the NES.
  2. MLB 09: The Show on the PlayStation 2 easily got the least amount of upgrades and new features of the trio of offerings this year.
  3. MLB 09 The Show remains the definitive baseball experience, a startlingly deep and expansive take on America’s Pastime that offers more hardball than most of us could likely get to in a full season. There aren’t many noticeable improvements this year, though, which may bring pause to those who’ve already got a few seasons under their belts.

While the Show on the PS2 is still an engaging and enjoyable game, it's definitely been overshadowed by the other versions on Sony's other systems. The visuals are getting a bit worn, and some of the changes feel like they weaken elements of the game, like those made to the fielding.

It needs to have better faces or more selections to faces. It also needs to have the king of rode to the show that ps3 has. im a little dissapointed this year with the game. mlb 08 is a little better. but i also like the way you can edit the player throughout the career. Expand

The game has barely changed at all from 08. You pay $30 and they don't even update the ages of the players. Not only that, a good 25% of the commentary is inaccurate. In franchise mode, you start out with whatever random crap manager they give you, and are unable to fire him until the end of your first season. The off-season is upgraded, but hardly enough to make up for the fact that this is the second year in a row that this franchise has fallen short in correcting glitches and inaccurate commentary. In addition, the fielding changes, basically suck! Expand
