While the ridiculous amount of options may be appealing, the bland and lifeless presentation kind of takes away from the experience. It's kind of ironic that a game that places so much emphasis on realism, yet utterly lacks it in terms of both visuals and audio. If that's your kind of thing, you might want to opt for the PS3 version instead. It doesn't matter, though; MLB 11 is about baseball, and it's got it where it counts.

Really there's not much to say about MLB11: The Show for the PS2, other than it's a serviceable MLB title with up-to-date rosters that has been released for an antiquated gaming system that a very small population of gamers is sure to appreciate, but ultimately will go unnoticed.

Unfortunately some sites have lead people to believe that many of the features of the PS3 version are included in this game. They are not. No Eric Karros [I can live with that], no analog hitting or pitching and no motion capture videos. Rex Hudler is still around. I think this is basically just MLB 10 with updated rosters and a little better graphics. I haven't tried a full season yet but I doubt I will see mascots or Jumbotrons in this version. I recommend renting this game before purchasing so you can compare it to previous versions and won't be a little disappointed like I was. I just don't feel like shelling out $300+ to play one baseball game. Expand

If this game were released 10 years prior on the PlayStation 2, then this would obviously be a 10. unfortunately, this is reality, and will only serve one purpose: to play only if you have no money and a PlayStation 3 but simply adore baseball. I hope your not poor enough to not be able to afford a ps3, because its worth it. Expand
