  1. A fun but slightly frustrating game due to the bad camera handling.
  2. Besides the graphics not being real impressive and the character voices not being original this is one of our favorites of the Monsters, Inc. games.
  3. Although Monsters, Inc. is leaps and bounds beyond film-based games, it is still just a mediocre triumph; mind you the game is targeted at pre-teens.
  4. The entire package seems like it could have used a little more polish, too. [Apr 2002, p.104]
  5. A PlayStation2 game that seems to have taken the whole Pixar production ethic to one side and then beaten it to a pulp, gagged it with electrical tape and left it crying in a corner with a sign hanging round its neck that says 'Spit on me.'
  6. The fact that you can run through levels that slightly resemble key points in the movie is nice, but this doesn’t feel like PS2 game so much as a port of a PlayStation title, with a better resolution.
  7. Barely squeaks out three stars. It's a little short, but the models and overall production make up for it. [Apr 2002, p.58]
  8. [It] will likely bore the older players and frustrate the young.
  9. Passable graphics, decent sound, an uncooperative camera angle and cakewalk difficulty make this a great rental option for fans of the movie.
  10. It's tough to be impressed by a game based on a Pixar movie, when it's a given Pixar's CG is 2,000 times better than anything a current game system could offer. [Apr 2002, p.77]
  11. Even a little kid who adored the movie could easily get bored and fall asleep after walking back and forth through areas just to find a few objects or a lost monster, or someone to scare.
  12. It's as simplistic a platformer as you can get. [May 2002, p.108]
  13. 43
It’s also not an overly difficult game, nor an overly long game, nor an overly attractive game, nor an overly fun game.
  14. Younger kids who can enjoy a game on the merits of simply making a nice looking character move around will dig it, but its strange difficulty might be too much.
  15. 29
Don't be fooled into thinking this is a credible piece of software, cause it's not. It's an interactive ad mobile, and in that it's quite exemplary.

I'm not going to lie to you; this is not a great game. In fact it's pretty terrible. The fact that All you do is run around and look at your shadow is pretty poor, if you love the film you might like this, but... maybe if you didn't, you'll find your copy in the pre-owned section of game stop straight after you play. Live a little, the game is meant for kids, so there shouldnt be this awesome superiority over any other games.
