Never before has a sports game improved so much and added so many new features in a single season. It may not be the league-leader in every category, but excellent performances across the board make it the best baseball game of the year. [May 2004, p.86]
  2. With a revamped Dynasty mode, a new batting system, and my favorite feature, Big Play Control, MVP Baseball 2004 is the complete package. [Apr 2004, p.73]

The left handed hitter bug and the player progression bug affect both the game dynamics and the franchise mode’s lasting value respectively.

Great Game play, but there is a complete absence of multiplayer and season mode. If they would take the Madden Owner's Mode and give that freedom and interface to this gameplay. THis would be the best game on the market, but right now.... even though it has great gameplay.... its still just a 6. Expand

The Yankees pull off a trade sending Soriano for Rodriquez ... but I can't in a video game. So now I have to play a schedule w/ fake rosters. This is supposed to be acceptable? I paid for the game so they should add an override feature that let's me do what I want. No season mode, so now the only way to play out a schedule is in the time consuming Dynasty mode. This is supposed to be an enhancement? While the Dynasty option is nice, I don't have the desire to be bothered w/ anything but playing games .. w/ a season .. w/ stats ... and w/ A-Rod on the Yanks. If this game doesn't allow that basic format then it is something less than acceptable! Expand
