  • Summary: Different from the previous One Piece games, Pirates Carnival is a party game featuring over forty mini games. The mini games feature simple controls and promise to recreate well-known scenes from the original One Piece body of work. The game features support for four players, with some games featuring split screen play and others placing all four players in the same area. Expand

  1. If party games are your thing and you love the One Piece series, Pirates' Carnival will satisfy your craving for a multiplayer board game.
  2. With more polish and a wider variety of mini-games, One Piece would make an excellent addition to any party. Unfortunately, it falls just too short of its mark to appeal to any but the most die-hard of One Piece fans.
  3. Kids probably won't mind much, and they're definitely the target audience here. Pirates' Carnival isn't spectacular in any one sense, but the solid mini-games and well-used license are enough to put it near the top of the distinctly uncompetitive party game genre.
  4. 45
The gameplay is absolutely textbook in its design, and while a few of the games can be pretty entertaining, the sheer amount of variety is far too small.
  5. One Piece: Pirates Carnival is nothing short of a poorly done Mario Party remake.
  6. I want to preface my statements that way, so that when I tell you how awful Pirate's Carnival is , maybe, just maybe, you'll believe me. [Sept. 2006, p.92]
  7. Most of the mini-games are either boring or poorly controlled, and there's so few of them that they all get old pretty fast.
