Soft of resembles a four-person "Ico" – only not as pretty and much harder to get the hang of. [Jan 2002, p.132]
  2. A disappointment...A neat idea having a city where the socio-economics are broken down so structurally. With nasty goings on occurring in the recesses of the city, I honestly wanted to love this game.
  3. It's a massively built game but it seems more time was spent on creating the city than creating a driving story.

Lacks the full-on rampage of other action titles. "Halo" this is not. Combat is almost a throw-away sub-feature, and it shouldn't be.
  5. It is designed specifically for those who enjoy using their minds, and it will occasionally even frustrate the best of those players.
  6. This is a PS2 series of riddles you don't want to rely too much on a strategy guide to beat, since solving them on your own or with friends is more than half the fun.

Perhaps a sequel with a cleaner look and feel? [Feb 2002, p.61]
  8. Proves to be yet another fine example shabby port of a decent PC title, that just falls apart when brought on to a console.
  9. More time has been spent on making sure Project Eden included as many smart, engaging puzzles as possible, rather than incorporating half a billion polygons and the latest in vector shading techniques.
  10. Game Informer

The game's pace is painfully slow, and like most puzzle games of this type, the payoff is far from satisfying. [Jan 2002, p.83]
  11. A leaden interface almost completely nullifies any enjoyment one might derive from this otherwise unique blend of action, adventure and puzzle elements.

A co-op experience unlike any other, it rewards teamwork and lateral thinking. The game feels like it may benefit from PC controls but I had no problem adjusting to its control scheme, which can take place in either third or first-person view points. I'd say the game being multiplayer is core to the experience although there is enjoyment to be had in single player so long as you've got your thinking cap on. Full Review »

I will admit, I didn't understand this game one bit when I bought it and it ended up sitting on my shelf for almost a year collecting dust. Last year (04) I started to play the game and after lending my time to it, got to understand what the game was about. It is my favorite game now, though I still have not beat it. I'm on level 9 out of 11. This game did it for me and all I can say is once you've given this game some time, all you will want is time for the game. lol Full Review »
