  1. Once you start you won’t be able to put down the controller until you’ve beaten it.
  2. You’ll never get enough of picking up a soldier, watching him flail around, followed by throwing him into a wall. The rag doll physics help add to the diabolical pleasure as limbs fly all over the place when tossed from one part of the room to the other.
  3. At a time when many games endorse themselves based on the power of a single gimmick, Midway has crammed all manner of ragdoll physics, realworld physics, particle and lighting effects into Psi-Ops, laid an innovation of its own over the top, and left the final product to speak for itself. In a perfect world, all games would be developed with this much attention to detail.
  4. The physics engine makes everything look better as it is very lifelike.
  5. The attention-grabbing graphic effects and tight control scheme that allows Psi-Ops players to wreck super-powered havoc on the enemy tips the balance in making it a good purchase for action game fans, despite its lone boss battle bug and minor design problems.
  6. Psi-Ops can be a gruesome toy at times (and one that earned its M-rating), but it is delightful, and much more open-ended than its linear plot might suggest. With your many powers, and an environment full of objects that can be manipulated with Scryer's mind, there is so much to do in Psi-Ops that it's hard to put down.
  7. Through innovative use of the nigh-ubiquitous Havok physics engine, a decent (if rather clichéd) storyline, and some impressively well fleshed-out game design, Midway has managed to create a game that offers something different, but more importantly, a whole hell of a lot of fun.
  8. No superhero game I've ever played made me feel more like, well, a superhero. [July 2004, p.89]

Not for the timid, Psi-Ops features some flat-out nasty moments. Sneak up on enemies to drain their minds of psi energy and pop open their heads. Set some poor bastard on fire and he'll run around screaming.
  10. Unlike any title you've seen before, and will likely leave you breathless and craving more when the credits roll. [July 2004, p.110]
  11. While bits of the game are predictable, such as fighting a boss whose only weakness is fire immediately after you obtain pyrokinesis, any flaws are insignificant thanks to the amazingly addictive and fun gameplay.
  12. I wasn’t expecting much more than a novelty act, to be honest. The well-implemented psychic elements in the game really make Psi-Ops stand out and provide a fun experience throughout.

The game is fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Unlike many games, you don't have to sneak through 80 percent of the game if you don't want to.
  14. A remarkably innovative title in design and concept.
  15. Falls short in one vital criteria. It’s a single player game. The prospect of a death match style arena with online support and 20 players tossing each other around with their powers of telekinesis would surely be great fun.
  16. When the end of the 2004 year of gaming comes, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy may end up being the sleeper hit of the year.

Its everything you want in a game its fun, exciting, funnyish cut-scenes and simply 'mind' blowing! Get it? Anyway the physics are brillant, controls easy to master and the gimmick of throwing bodies against enemies or burning guards to a crisp is such a rush. Ok its not perfect its very short, around ten hours but i plead with you fellow gamers BUY THIS CLASSIC! Even the soundtrack rocks, fantastic! Way better than the boring god of 'bore'! Full Review »

Overall the game is really fun but the boss battles are pretty hay.
