  1. The best racing game of the year..."Gran Turismo 2" and "3" are just as good, but they are definitely not better than Splashdown.
  2. The graphics are fresh and the water effects are fantastic. You’ll find it hard to get bored of this title.
  3. It strikes a perfect balance between racing and aerial trickery so one doesn’t overshadow the other – they’re equally important. [Jan 2002, p.220]

It gets a 5 for the very pretty graphics. It's probably not as bad as I think it is, but I've been spoiled by the title that pioneered water racing games called Waverace. Waverace Blue Storm was great, but Waverace 64 was epic. Splashdown feels like I'm driving a hovercraft over the water instead of a jet ski in the water. Expand

  3. This game was not very good. Great looking water and realistic physics. I played waverunner on 64 and was able to do fine in that. I play numerous racing games but it was impossible to get past the 2nd level in this game on normal mode. I always had full turbo and never made mistakes but people in last place were faster than me and everyone was perfect at only the 2nd level. Stick with waverunner and enjoy it. Expand
