  • Summary: Stacked is a Texas Hold 'em poker game that captures the look, excitement and drama of the phenomenon that has captivated America. The game features a comprehensive poker school in which the player can receive tips and strategies from Daniel Negreanu (2004 ESPN Player of the Year, World Poker Tour Player of the Year)who will teach everything from the fundamentals of Hold 'em to advanced tournament strategies through full motion video, voiceovers and dynamic in-game features. As players progress through the game's career mode, they can apply Daniel's teachings to overcome some of poker's most renowned stars, including Josh Arieh, Jennifer Harman, Erick Lindgren, Carlos Mortenson, Evelyn Ng and David Williams. The Poki Artificial Intelligence system utilized in Stacked adapts its tactics in real-time to exploit the user's playing style, detecting tendencies and deploying appropriate counter-strategies to deliver a challenging and authentic experience. Gamers can organize a casual game with friends or compete to qualify for sanctioned multi-table tournaments. [Myelin Media] Expand

  1. Stacked with Daniel Negreanu is the best Texas Hold 'Em videogame on the market currently. It lets you play cash games, single table and multi-table tournaments and online on all platforms.
  2. While the AI has its issues as detailed above, it does a good job of helping players learn how to be better poker players as well as some of the basics on how to bluff someone.
  3. Stacked could benefit from more polish and deeper player customization (no, we don't want to look fat and balding, even if we are), but its actual gameplay is solid, and the creepy I'm-watching-you-so-I-can-destroy-you vibe can only help your real-world strategy.

Its AI is mostly solid, but it generally doesn't play aggressively enough to put a whole lot of pressure on you, allowing you to sit back and dictate the course of play.

Severely lacking in many areas. With the graphics being average, you would expect the interface to move quickly. But nope, making selections, chosing the amount to bet, and other actions take much longer than in real life or even free online poker. Which makes you ask yourself why not play a real game? The excitement of trying to build a career for yourself loses steam quickly as you work with the annoyingly slow interface and lack of features. Expand

This is not poker. A forced $2000 buy-in on a $4-$8 tagble is just dumb. The betting system is tedious and prolongs the misery online, as players try to bet. No one is foced to post a blind when they sit at a cash table. While not getting the nuances of Hold'em poker is bad, the ugly avatars that you have minimal control over how they look are ugly and end up serving no real purpose. Honestly, there are so many things bad about this game, it atounds me that it was actually released. Just a bad game. Expand

This game started off with a good marketing run, a great promotional DVD, and a release date of 7/2005. Well, delays pushed it back to 6/1/2006. Now it's out, with half the features it promised, and a lackluster online play. This online play has rampant disconnects and is anything but fun. My recommendation is .. if you like online play, get one of the many free poker sites and play in their online rooms. If you like singleplayer play, this game is decent IF you want to play a video game. If you want to play poker, i'd suggest poker academy standard.. it contains the bots this game used, and it contains a lot better versions of them. Expand
