  1. The half-hearted addition of the vehicle-less battles should have either been dropped altogether or made more integral to gameplay.
  2. Cheat Code Central
The sense of scale is impressive. There is some draw-in but these worlds are absolutely massive and impressive.
  3. Feels a little recycled with a brand new name. Not bad, but could have been better.
  4. Entertainment Weekly
Considering it throws in everything but Aunt Beru's kitchen sink (including a fun multiplayer battle mode, gorgeous cut scenes, even a Wookie cameo), you can't help be feel plump and satisfied after digesting this Episode II offering. [15 Nov 2002, p.144]
  5. The selection of vehicles, structured missions objectives, and rewarding bonus system will make this a favorite for anyone who plays it.
  6. Game Informer
Decent, but there's better Star Wars action to be had. [Feb 2003, p.98]
  7. A highly satisfying game. Despite being trapped in the same old LucasArts formula, the change of pace fighting in vehicles turns what could have been a ho-hum game into a thrilling homage to the film's end sequence.
  8. 60
Sounds disastrous, right? Well, it mostly is—except for multiplayer, The Clone Wars' only saving grace.
  9. The best way to describe Clone Wars’s gameplay is by calling it "Jedi Starfighter" PLUS... Simply an average game.
  10. Convincing is a good word for The Clone Wars, which ultimately succeeds at making you feel like you're on the front lines of a big Star Wars ground battle.
  11. 79
The frantic pacing and tremendous atmosphere result in adrenaline rushes that'll give the most hardened shoot-'em-up veteran the shakes.
  12. The action is always high tense, and extremely enjoyable.
  13. The biggest disappointment is the terrible multiplayer options in the game.
  14. An average game, with some elements that take it to a higher level. What’s frustrating about it is there aren’t enough of these elements throughout, otherwise it would be a top-notch title.
  15. 76
A solid science fiction blaster. Sure it's better on GameCube, but who cares?
  16. Both the solo and multiplayer options deliver the explosive goods, but for maximum entertainment value try betting with friends on the strategy-based Conquest mode. Loser has to sponge-bathe Jabba!
  17. If you're a hardcore Star Wars fan – and only if you're a hardcore Star Wars fan – the story should interest you. But, like the six-to-eight-hour game itself, it's just too short. [Feb 2003, p.102]
  18. PSM Magazine
The lightsaber challenges are very much on the weaker side of the force, and should have either been worked on longer or left out entirely. [Feb 2003, p.32]
  19. Not even a framey and slightly-buggy engine (collision detection issues galore!) can prevent this title from being a must-own recommendation for Star Wars buffs.
  20. As you can probably tell, the main problem with this game is that it’s scrappy and disjointed. The areas that show flair and imagination are cut short by generic and shockingly unoriginal elements that make you cringe and turn away in embarrassment.
