  1. An intense and fun romp to play through again and again.
  2. A slam-bang action ride that never lets you off the edge of your seat.
  3. How much fun you can have just hosing down iron with bullets is something for you to decide, since we’ve gone beyond that and are only truly happy with precision. But that’s the whole Time Crisis point, ain’t it?
  4. The best parts of this game are its controls and all of the added crap they threw in there.
  5. 90
Granted, it’s a very short game that certainly won’t mesmerize you for weeks, but the value of its multiplayer side as a killer party game makes it a very worthy addition to your PS2 library.
  6. 90
I’m not sure what it is but this game is just so much fun, maybe it’s the lack of shooting games available nowadays or the inclusion of the foot pedal, but this game is just so much fun.
  7. 87
Yeah this game is short, but you know what? It's a great, addictive shooting game.
  8. The thrills don't last long, but they still place Time Crisis 2 at the top of the console gun game food chain, especially with the Guncon 2.
  9. If developers can figure out how to add some RPG elements into lightgun titles, then maybe they could earn an "A"...Overall, TC2 is a great arcade to home conversion, as well an excellent action-packed lightgun game that no one should miss.
  10. A solid, action filled game, with lots of options, plenty of guns and Holywood Style shooting scenes.
  11. 'Best Damn Shooter on a Console.'
  12. Haven't had more fun with a light gun on a console since the original Time Crisis.
  13. 80
It's fun, easy to get into, and quick to master...While it is smooth and the overall graphic effect is done very well the game lacks a lot of substance and is hard to replay.
  14. Even though it feels more like babysitting than crime fighting, it’s still an NRA member’s dream come true.
  15. It simply looks and works great on the PS2. [Oct 2001, p.134]
  16. Forget about doing this game with the CPU. Grab a friend and play this disc the way it’s meant to be played. [Oct 2001, p.146]
  17. The same flaw that haunts every other light gun game on the market. After an hour or so of practice, most gamers will be able to complete the game in just under twenty minutes.
  18. It's got everything you're looking for in an arcade shooter and more. Just don't expect it to last forever.
  19. All things considered, Time Crisis II is a whole lot more fun than a console port of a three-year-old arcade game should be. Fans of the arcade version will not be disappointed.
  20. A good -- if not stunning -- looking title. Character models are sufficiently detailed, while the world is populated with crisp textures throughout. Time Crisis 2 ranks as one of the better light gun games released to the home market.
  21. The only way to avoid relegating this to the ‘I’ve got nothing better to do for the next twenty minutes’ league is to persuade your friends to buy a light gun and bring over their console and a spare TV and act like John Woo for an evening – great fun!

  1. If I had to choose one shoot 'em up game to play for the rest of my life, I would pick Time Crisis 2 in a heartbeat. The gameplay is largely improved over the dissappointingly short original, and the enemies are challenging but fun to kill at the same time. However, gaming aficionados should track down the arcade version, seeing as the light gun action is far more effective on a big screen with surround sound. It gave rise to what I call the arcade boom, and spawned countless rip offs, the highlight being the House of the Dead series, a horror survival where you play a secret agent who battles off zombies and monsters inside a creepy old mansion armed with just a pistol. Sounds an awful lot like another certain famous horror game, don't it? But now back to TC2. Overall, one of the best action games ever created. Full Review »

What really makes this game is the Crisis Mission mode that is unlocked when you finish the arcade levels. The scenarios are far more challenging and offer much better variety, often requiring you to avoid hitting hostages, or giving you limited ammunition and time to complete your goals. This is still my favorite gun game, as it concentrates on the basics and does not get overly fancy. Skeet shooting rules too! Full Review »
