  • Summary: Take command of the Ghosts through a series of missions that range from demolitions, to search and rescue, to all-out firefights for survival. Russia has fallen under the control of ultra nationalistic politicians intent on rebuilding the Iron Curtain. This leads to conflict with NATO as Russia attempts to reclaim the breakaway Republic of Georgia and the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. As the war escalates, casualties mount, hostages are taken and the Ghosts are sent in. Expand

  1. The need to command troops might not suit everyone, or the slower, more measured approach to combat. But if you want a unique war game for your console, Ghost Recon is your only choice.
  2. The levels are huge, but you don't feel like there's much freedom because the game very strictly controls where you can and can't go. [Feb 2003, p.109]
  3. To date this is the best example of what the genre can offer and is an ideal starting point for those interested in the science of modern warfare.

Sure, this game might be more accessible now, if you define "accessible" as "easily mastered by the severely brain-damaged."

Compared to previous Clancy games like rainbow six and so on, there are much more advancments to this game, more weapon optoins, more comand options and simply better missions, not like the kind where you have to sneak through an entire level without being seen, "nearly impossible" , This game just like previous Clancy games is a winner, and shouldn't be compared to games that lack patience. Yes, this game has problems, and yes, I have a problem with it saying "GAME OF THE YEAR!" on the box. Who said that? Okay, it's not bad, as I said, it does have problems, and you'd be better off playing "Timesplitters 2" or "Halo", but people, not all games are perfect! Expand
