  • Summary: The year is 2007 and the world stands on the brink of a terrifying global conflict. As the United States is caught in an embargo-induced oil crisis, terrorist attacks against American interests - and citizens - escalate. Venezuela, which still supplies the United States with oil, also becomes a target. As unrest grows in America, protests rock the streets of Caracas. And while the shadow of terror looms, madmen plot even greater acts of murder and destruction. No place is safe, no border secure in this hour of fear. Only one bulwark stands between the world and the threats that now face it: RAINBOW, an international task force dedicated to combating terrorism in all its forms. A top-secret organization consisting of the best field operatives the United Nations has to offer, RAINBOW is the most potent weapon in the world's arsenal. Backed by the most sophisticated technology available and trained to the limits of human capability, they are our best hope in the war against terror. [Ubisoft] Expand

  1. The developers have done a fantastic job porting the game except for a few graphics problems although the online play was surprisingly tolerable even with the servers in Europe.
  2. Squad-based shooter with a realistic edge and online missions. [Jan 2007, p.106]
  3. If I were to decide between Rainbow Six 3 and "SOCOM II," I would choose the latter simply because the online play is so much more solid and the lag time from the mic isn’t quite as bad as it is in Rainbow Six 3.
  4. But the big draw of the Xbox version is its online modes via Xbox LIVE, and this PS2 port doesn’t even approach getting close to its Xbox sibling.
  5. A relatively solid shooter with some great features that gamers won’t be able to find else where on the PS2. However, when compared directly to the other versions of the game, the PS2 versions stands out as a shoddy port and only a shell of what it could be.
  6. You don't want to spend your hard-earned (or however you get it... don't ask, don't tell, right?) cash on a game that's just "good," do you?
  7. The PS2 version of Rainbow Six 3 lacks in nearly every department: graphics, gameplay, multiplayer, and weapons selection.

"Rainbox Six 3: is one of the best PS2 games I played and is out there. It's realistic, tense, and filled with kinetic energy. Not only that; you can choose any weapon and allies to fight the enemy, which even makes the game better. A must buy!!! Expand

Dont really like the campaign much but the on-line is really good.

Tactical solid, only with failure and frustration. While some stuff works fine and well made. The campaign gets challenging but not so fun. The bland graphics seem to get more old. Such a nice solid, strong positive ideas are here, only that show themselves very slow. Expand

It's entertaining but, after a while you memorize where all the guys are what to do etc. Basically it gets kind of slow. It would have been a lot better with a multiplayer mode without requiring a online hookup thing. Expand

A Fair Attempt But I Was Expecting So Much More Of This Game Altho Saying That I Only Have One Real Complaint Thus Being The Levels Are Way To Short. Buyable But Only Just. Expand
