• Summary: Developed at Rebellion by the team responsible for the original 1999 PC classic, the all-new Aliens vs. Predator allows players to take the role of three infamous species: Colonial Marines, Predators and Aliens. The game features a unique three-way online multiplayer experience, allowing gamers to battle for survival and the right to be crowned the deadliest species in the galaxy. Each race also has its own distinct action-packed single-player campaign mode, with a storyline that cleverly interweaves with the other two species’ paths. Set on planet BG-386; a human colonist mining group discovers an ancient pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the galaxy, a race of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs. Deep inside the ruined pyramid meanwhile, nature's deadliest species awakes from centuries of hibernation intent on finding new prey. The Colonial Marine's story is an incredible fight against all odds from horrors lurking in the dark. Surrounded on all sides yet armed to the teeth, the Colonial Marine represents humanity's last stand with the firepower to fight back. As the Alien, players discover what it's like to be the scariest, most murderous creature in the universe, with the ability to traverse any surface at lightning speed in order to get close enough to unleash its deadly claws, tail and teeth. A master of the hunt, the Predator grants the player an arsenal of exotic weaponry with which to stalk from the shadows. Earn the greatest honor by ambushing prey up-close, before butchering them for a gory trophy kill. [Sega] Expand

  1. Possibly the greatest movie-inspired title ever. This positively oozes atmosphere and is a must for the fans. [Mar 2010, p.72]
  2. Aliens vs Predator it's a fun to play FPS. The singleplayer is quite enjoyable if played with one of the creatures, but unfortunately playing as marine doesn't scare as it once did. Aesthetically the games looks quite old on consoles, but it sounds exactly as the movies. After finishing the game, you'll find a complete and quite well made multiplayer mode, entertaining thanks to the good calibration of the three races.
  3. As it stands now, you'd probably have more fun being on To Catch a Predator than playing Aliens Vs. Predator.

  1. This game was completely awesome. Loved playing and killing other dudes lol. This game is the best i've played so far and i hope the sequel will be in 3D. But it wasn't just the game, but also the story was great and something people wanted in a story. Expand

  2. i really loved playing AVP on the PC back in the late 90s . it was the very first online game i ever played and spent almost 2 years on it. then you have AVP for the atari jagaur which was also made by rebellion which was the only reason to own a jagaur at the time . there was also AVP 2 which i didnt get to play much of being busy with phantasy star online at the time but i heard it was a great game. well rebellion is now 3 to 4 now on the AVP series. this one just doesnt hold up to the other 3 it feels rushed and not well balanced out . the game is still fun in the story mode but not as good as the other 3 . the online is where the game really takes a hit . the species balancing is horrid . certain maps deffinitly boost the advantage as well to other races . the new melee combat system also sucks and still no acid spit for the alien . all in all AVP is a ok game especially if you are a die hard fan of both the Alien and Predator . you can get the game pretty cheap now. i picked mine up on amazon for just $14 with shipping. Well, based on the demo the negative reviews are correct in my opinion. The alien controls are hopelessly awkward, the environments are bland and dull to look at, the multi player maps are terrible and have areas you should be able to move over but cannot (invisible walls) and the game play just lacked any element of real enjoyment - I grew bored and stopped playing in less than a hour.
