  • Summary: Developed at Rebellion by the team responsible for the original 1999 PC classic, the all-new Aliens vs. Predator allows players to take the role of three infamous species: Colonial Marines, Predators and Aliens. The game features a unique three-way online multiplayer experience, allowing gamers to battle for survival and the right to be crowned the deadliest species in the galaxy. Each race also has its own distinct action-packed single-player campaign mode, with a storyline that cleverly interweaves with the other two species’ paths. Set on planet BG-386; a human colonist mining group discovers an ancient pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the galaxy, a race of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs. Deep inside the ruined pyramid meanwhile, nature's deadliest species awakes from centuries of hibernation intent on finding new prey. The Colonial Marine's story is an incredible fight against all odds from horrors lurking in the dark. Surrounded on all sides yet armed to the teeth, the Colonial Marine represents humanity's last stand with the firepower to fight back. As the Alien, players discover what it's like to be the scariest, most murderous creature in the universe, with the ability to traverse any surface at lightning speed in order to get close enough to unleash its deadly claws, tail and teeth. A master of the hunt, the Predator grants the player an arsenal of exotic weaponry with which to stalk from the shadows. Earn the greatest honor by ambushing prey up-close, before butchering them for a gory trophy kill. [Sega] Expand

  1. Possibly the greatest movie-inspired title ever. This positively oozes atmosphere and is a must for the fans. [Mar 2010, p.72]

A game that's going to stoke the hearts of anyone who ever fell in love with the original films – which is likely anyone who's ever picked up a game pad.
  3. Aliens vs Predator it's a fun to play FPS. The singleplayer is quite enjoyable if played with one of the creatures, but unfortunately playing as marine doesn't scare as it once did. Aesthetically the games looks quite old on consoles, but it sounds exactly as the movies. After finishing the game, you'll find a complete and quite well made multiplayer mode, entertaining thanks to the good calibration of the three races.
  4. As it stands now, you'd probably have more fun being on To Catch a Predator than playing Aliens Vs. Predator.

  1. This game was completely awesome. Loved playing and killing other dudes lol. This game is the best i've played so far and i hope the sequel will be in 3D. But it wasn't just the game, but also the story was great and something people wanted in a story. Collapse
  2. I don't see why everyone has been saying this is a poor attempt at making an AvP game. I have the played all three AvP games plus own the second and the third game and personally the third isn't as good as the two previous games made but it still stands on its own. I have to admit the three campaigns are on the short side and the Alien campaign is just kill, kill, kill with no story but that's the way the Alien is, it doesn't need to give a reason why it kills. This game really shines in the multiplayer though and i have to say that it is amazing. It's charms do where off though but it is still fun to play. It is a solid game and if you're a fan of the movies i do recommend it as a must have game. The only reason i don't give it a ten is because of the poorly designed matchmaking system for ranked matches. Still gives me the sh*ts Expand
  3. Aliens vs. Predator is not a perfect game by any means. The gun play, mission types and general set-up all feel very last generation. At it's core, AvP is an antiquated game sharing more in common with Perfect Dark than Call of Duty. Despite this, Aliens vs. Predator is a lot of fun. It's mechanics, whilst old, work completely fine and the game has tight controls. But most importantly, AvP nails the atmosphere and spirit of the movies just right. If you're a big fan of the franchises, this game is sure to delight. All three of the campaigns feel and play very distinctly and they're all equally as fun. The plot is also descent as each species experiences the same event, but from different skews. You'll have to wait until you've finished all three campaigns to fully understand the bigger picture. Because of it's franchise association, the game has a high replay value. Sometimes I just want to dip into the Aliens universe. When that time comes, AvP gets dusted down and played through again. The multiplayer is pretty descent, but it's here where the older game mechanics make themselves felt the most. Basically, it's never going to replace a COD or a Battlefield as your go-to online shooter. Overall, Aliens vs. Predator is a good, solid game. But if you're a huge fan of the franchise, it can sometimes transcend into a great one. Expand

Well, based on the demo the negative reviews are correct in my opinion. The alien controls are hopelessly awkward, the environments are bland and dull to look at, the multi player maps are terrible and have areas you should be able to move over but cannot (invisible walls) and the game play just lacked any element of real enjoyment - I grew bored and stopped playing in less than a hour.
