  • Summary: In this installment, the Bad Company crew again find themselves in the heart of the action, where they must use every weapon and vehicle at their disposal to survive. In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the 'B' company fight their way through snowy mountaintops, dense jungles and dusty villages. With a heavy arsenal of deadly weapons and a slew of vehicles to aid them, the crew set off on their mission and they are ready to blow up, shoot down, blast through, wipe out and utterly destroy anything that gets in their way. Total destruction is the name of the game, delivered as only the DICE next generation Frostbite engine can. [Electronic Arts] Expand

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is as complete a package as you could ever ask for. Multiplayer-heavy titles can be a fickle beast, but we’re pretty sure we’ll be playing this one for quite some time to come.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is by all intents and purposes a fantastic follow-up to the original game. All of the great ideas that fell short have now come to light, and the return of classic Battlefield online make this the game to own for online shooter fans.
  3. The most flattering way to look at Bad Company 2 is as an intense online shooter with a slightly dodgy singleplayer mode included as a free bonus.
  4. There's no denying the appeal of Bad Company 2's multiplayer. DICE is still expertly nailing down what it pioneered all the way back in 2002, and the experience remains far from stale. However, poor design in the single-player makes for a campaign that's not only lacklustre throughout, but cripplingly buggy at times as well.

I'd like to start off by saying that this game is spectacular in graphics and sound effects.Ok the sound effects really immerse you into the game, from the crunching of leaves under your boots to the sound of an explosion of an rpg when it hits right beside you. vedict for sound: outclasses mw 2 in that department by miles. Now the graphics ... are u kidding ... BFBC2>>>>>>>>>MW 2 again. ok now the gameplay, mw 2 is full of kids with squeaky voices and campers and feels more like its trying to win u over with novelty addons such as tac knife and perks such as lightweight , sleight of hand pro (quickscoping is a thing of the past in bfbc2 because the sniping is a whole lot more realistic.) and steady aim (encourages spraying). Where as bf bc 2 encourages teamwork and its only gives you the basic addons that u actually need for a gun such as red dot sight , sliencer and grenade laucher. My final verdict , dont waste your $80 on a piece of junk with poor gameplay and poor graphics buy bf bc 2 insteadu won't regret it. Expand
  2. played the first battle field bad company and thought it was ok but nothing really impressed me to much about it . the second one is a improvement . the single player feels alittle bit better but not by alot . i think dice could do a much better job with the destructable enviroments especially when you look at red faction . the graphics are pretty decent and the story mode is kinda intresting . could use a online co -op though for sure would have made it alot more fun. after beating the story mode once probubly never play it again. the online is the best part of the game . all kinds of vehicles to drive , different classes you can play and level up (leveling them up though is very very slow) , 4 player sqauds help with team work if by any miracle you find some one who uses a mic. down side would be not alot of map varity im not sure how many maps the game has through all game modes but doesnt seem like alot . also even though some of the game modes are cool there is not alot of them . over all though it was a pretty fun online game that kept me busy for a few weeks . OK, so the multiplayer still rocks, but why oh why did they abandon the kind of open plan levels in the single player campaign that made the original so fun? The original Battlefield BC had a design philosophy which made the single player a great experience, they let you do it pretty much your own way, walk or drive it was your choice. This time they seem to have walked away from that in an attempt to copy Modern Warfare. Spend 20 minutes driving round the outside of an impregnable fortress looking for the exact spot where the game designers say I can get in? Why the hell can't I just rocket a hole in the wall and drive on in? Bad Company stood out because it was different to all the other on rails shooters out there, too bad they chickened out with the sequel. Every single player game is on rails from here on in. Expand
  4. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Recently I decided to play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 again due to the lack of retail games being released. The game begins in October 1944 with a group of US Commandos trying to take a Japanese Naval Base during "Operation Aurora". During this Operation, the commandos capture a Japanese Scientist who tries to tell them to leave the island as soon as possible because of a project known as "Black Weapon". While leaving the island, the commandos were too late and the "Black Weapon" is activated which creates a tsunami and kills the commando group. The story is then taken to the present day were a group of U.S Soldiers are told to secure a device like the "Black Weapon" in Russia. Having done everything they needed to get the device, it is later found out that it was a fake. Due to the successful mission in Russia, General Braidwood tells the group that are now enlisted into a special force and is told to find Agent James Aguire. The squad go to Bolivia in search of Aguire which eventually leds to many firefights with the locals. The group are able to find Aguire and find out that they can retrieve his intelligence on these types of weapons from a French satellite that is being controlled in a base in the Andes. The group land the satellite and have to stop a Russian Army how are after the intelligence so that they can destroy it. When the group bring back the intelligence to Aguire; he tells them that the person behind making these weapons is a Russian Colonel known as Arkady Kirilenko (the same man that the group tried to eliminate in Russia). Kirilenko's plan is to try and wipe out the American Power Grid using these weapons so that the Russian Army can invade the USA. The group are told that Kirilenko is hiding out in Chile which leds to them and the U.S Forces hunting him down. The group eventually find him but Kirilenko is able to escape again. The group find intel on where Kirilenko maybe heading to next. The group believe that he was of to find an abandoned ship known as "Sangre Del Toro". The group move out and find the ship which contains the key ingredient in making these weapons. The group also find out more about what happened during "Operation Aurora". The Operation was a suicide mission so that the U.S Army were able to see the capability of the "Black Weapon". While trying to get to compound to Aguire for analysis, the groups helicopter is shot down which leaves them split up. The group eventually regroup with one another and escape from the local militia. Giving the compound to Aguire, the group find out that Aguire is a double-agent and wants revenge for what happened to his father - one of the commandos involved in Operation Aurora. However Kirilenko betrays Aguire and kills him. Kirilenko tries to kill the group but they are saved by their helicopter pilot who evetually dies due to his wounds. They eventually head through the city of Quinto were it is believed that Kirilenko's Black Weapon is being held. The group find out that it is being held on a large cargo plane as it is activated showing the group its true power. The group then smuggle themselves on to the cargo plane, they find that Kirilenko is trying to activate the weapon above Southern United States until the group blow up the weapon and the plane. While bailing out of the plane, Kirilenko steals the last parachute. While in free fall, Kirilenko is killed and the remaining parachute is handed to you by one of the group. The group believe that all their hard work did something until the General turns up to tell them that they will be helping to fight of the Russian Army as it has just moved through Alaska and Canada.

Positives I liked how you played in WW2 and the modern era
I very much enjoyed the multiplayer
I liked the idea of collecting people's dog tags after getting a knife kill on multiplayer

    Negatives
It is far to easy to get sniping kills in the story and on multiplayer
The story is one which has been used many times and after playing it once, the second time round was very boring
It is too easy to get kills on multiplayer when using vehicles

    Rating
I would have to rate Battlefield: Bad Company 2 a 4 out of 10
