Jan 12, 201180While Blacklight might not have the longevity of a Call of Duty game, or the depth of tactical options, it stands head and shoulders above the vast majority of downloadable games.
-
Dec 22, 201080Yes, it could be more visually stimulating and it's basically just an online game but it is damn good value for money and one of the more consistent titles available on the online marketplace.
-
80Blacklight: Tango Down is perhaps the best downloadable game at this point in time. The gameplay is tremendously good and has a lot to offer, however sometimes you need to wait a long time before you can enter an online match. But once you're in, you won't leave!
-
Jan 4, 201173Blacklight: Tango Down provides everything that a modern game has to offer, but for a small prize. The extensiveness of the game consisting of 12 maps, the online mode in which you can play with up to 15 others, and the easily understandable levels system with 70 levels ensure numerous entertaining hours of playing.

Jan 25, 201170While the learning curve is a little steep, the combat and weaponry has an extremely different feel and is well worth a look for the bargain price of 20 bucks. [February 2011 p81]
-
Jan 6, 201170Simple, slick and sexily priced, this shooter has got game. [Jan 2011, p.85]
-
Dec 22, 201067In many ways, the technical achievement is high and should be praised. In other – and more important ways – it feels like an incomplete title.
-
Jan 10, 201165Blacklight Tango Down is a decent futuristic FPS which doesn't almost bring any new feature to the genre, and it arrives late for PS3.
-
A good game with some lofty goals. For sheer amount of content it gets gold stars, and ideas like the Digi Grenade, which explodes into a brilliant array of blinding pixels, are admirable ones. Unfortunately, the game also likes to reward shady practices like spawn camping, and the health bar is pretty much useless.
-
Dec 29, 201064Disappointing. [Issue#200, p.103]
-
Jan 13, 201163Blacklight has shortcomings, but style isn't one of them. [Jan 2011, p.96]
-
Jan 4, 201162Between huge shooters like Call of Duty and Medal of Honor it isn't the smartest move to release this game. The game can be fun, but most of the time there is nobody online and the gameplay isn't really great. It isn't a bad game but there is so much more quality available at the moment.
-
Feb 3, 201160There are some genuinely slick moments to be enjoyed. [Feb 2011, p.104]
-
Jan 12, 201160Blacklight: Tango Down is a solid first person shooter with a depth of customisation to rival Call of Duty. With its retro-futuristic style, it does enough to stand out in a crowded genre, but is let down by bland presentation and questionable ommisions.
-
Jan 3, 201160When your goal is to make a good multiplayer online game, a balanced gameplay and an optimized netcode are the most important things to keep in mind. Blacklight: Tango Down tries to create a "CoD like" experience at a reasonable price, but seems to forget merely about both of them. And after a 3 months delay, this is really a blow below the belt.
-
Dec 22, 201060As enjoyable as Blacklight: Tango Down can be, more often than not the game struggles under its own limitations; it's near unplayable when frame rate drops kick in.
-
It's not bad for a $15 game, but it does next to nothing to advance the FPS genre. You're better off getting a used copy of Call of Duty 4.
-
Jan 12, 201150Not really worth even the $15 price tag. You are better off putting that money towards a higher budget FPS title.
-
Dec 29, 201050Forgettable. [Jan 2011, p.91]
-
Jan 12, 201149It's online-only, its expensive and single-player enthusiasts won't find anything to enjoy in this title.
