An FPS with a unique puzzler style slant, Deadfall Adventures: Heart of Atlantis remains an entertaining affair despite inconsistent execution and a lack of polish.
Deadfall Adventures: Heart of Atlantis has got its heart in the right place, but in trying to compete with bigger budget brands, it comes out with mud on its face.
It is not about the graphics, that look a bit outdated. It is not abot how much was the budget. This game is about fun. Just like the campy movies from the 80s (Indy, Quatermain with Chamberlain), it is full of oneliners citing our favourite adventure movies (eg. "This thing belongs to the museum... and the money for it belong to my bank account".) I beated this game twice on PC, and now I am replaying it on PS3 as the Heart of Atlantis version. This is not the Uncharted, neither new Tombraider trilogy, but try it and bet to be enertained (like watching those hilarious films in the 80s) ...
Hey, im huge fan of Indiana Jones ... This game reminds me some elements from it. Played it with smile on my face. It offers good playability :) Minor bugs doesn't make game bad.
The story is a mish-mash of instantly recognisable boys-own adventure tropes, culled wholesale from the adventures we have witnessed in games, literature and movies past. You wont remember much about the lesser Quartermain once the game is over, but you will enjoy the fun Survival mode which gives a bit of longevity and is terrific fun to play.
If you are a fan of the Indiana Jones's Movies, then this is a game for **** story is not so terrible, but also not that **** weapon variety is standart, nothing **** puzzle's are mostly easy, maybe 2-3 more **** main character is not great it is very easy to forget he exists.Graphics are good, but streaming and pop up issues are visible and **** level design is great.Sound effects and voice acting are very quiet, even at max volume.
Now I never played the full game, But I did play the demo before. It was a okay game for a pretty simple shooter kinda like call of Juarez gunslinger. But this...well I don't know about this one. All I can say is that this game as far as I can tell it's just you and some other chick going around a ruin fighting off **** and shooting the undead by using you're flash light to kill them. But I only played the demo so I might be wrong. So I'm saying is that this game is alright.
is it Uncharted? no way.. it is however a decent adventure, with interesting locales, mummies and **** (even 'arctic **** submarine mummies', to quote a dialogue line!)... there is exploring, puzzle-solving and shooting, though often the story progression leaves the gamer unsatisfied.. to conclude, its a fun, but fairly unpolished, medium production value adventure one could try warming up for Thief's end..
SummaryIt’s a journey played out on a great scale as Deadfall Adventures: Heart of Atlantis puts you into the boots of James Lee Quatermain, the world’s premier treasure hunter with a knack for adventurer . . . and trouble.
