• Summary: Fear resonates in the underworld as a new protagonist crosses paths with a familiar hero who seemingly inexplicably slaughters countless people. Long ago the Dark Knight Sparda awoke to justice and rebelled against the dark emperor, to wage a one-man war to save humanity. Thousands of years later, a religious organization worships this renowned savior and has taken it upon themselves to rid the world of all demons. Residing in Fortuna, a castle city on the coast, this "Order of the Sword" has an elite group of "Holy Knights" dedicated to carrying out this very creed. Rising among the ranks, a young cynical warrior named Nero witnesses Sparda's legendary son Dante slaughter countless "knights". Has the renowned devil hunter turned his back on mankind? What does this encounter mean for these two individuals and why has destiny brought them together? In Devil May Cry 4, players control the formidable Nero who comes to grips with his newly found power as his beliefs and allegiance are tested. Continuing the legacy of fast paced action synonymous with the series, Devil May Cry 4 pushes the envelope of excellence even further with the inclusion of a new combat system that incorporates Nero's "Devil Bringer". This new feature has players delivering overwhelming damage to enemies with non-stop combos, while gaining new power for Nero's right arm. [Capcom] Expand

  1. It also marks a great jumping on point for newcomers with a more balanced difficulty level and a decent checkpoint/continue system, but offers plenty of harder modes for the die-hard fans. Easily one of the best action games in recent years.
  2. In high definition, DMC4's graphics and animations are nothing short of stunning, following the series' signature fantastical, pseudo-Gothic style fully detached from any comprehensible real-world time period.

Basically, Devil May Cry 4 is just the Devil May Cry game from 7 years ago with a fresh coat of paint, and that is fine by me.

While not the best game in the series, it is the best looking a smoothest running one. The DMC franchise is pure gold, and this one is no different. I love the nearly endless combonations of attacks that can be stylishly put together in a mad dash to devastate your enemy. I only have one warning, and that is not to take the game lightly. Even on its easier difficulties, this game will spit you out against the wall and follow it up with a curb-stomping. Learning the dodge mechanics and the new EX-attack system will turn the tables on your enemies, leaving you the one doing the curb-stomping... and following it up with a barrage of bullets to the skull. Repetitive, Repetitive, Repetitive! Fighting bosses 3-4 times is boring...skill up system sucks.

  3. This game is terrible. 1)The roving and nearly uncontrollable camera is shoddy gaming at it's finest, this is an apparent attempt to add difficulty to the game and it works. 2) The power and skill up system is unengaging and trivial. 3) Jump puzzles, I HATE them. 4) This game is constantly shooting for awesome and missing. I'm not sure who this appeals to, but as a former PC gamer I can assure you this game sucks. Expand
