  • Summary: In this epic multiplayer-focused game, players can choose to defend humanity as a part of the Global Defense Force (GDF) or destroy it as a merciless Strogg alien invader. Players battle as one of five unique classes in either the conventionally armed GDF army or the futuristic Strogg invasion force, each outfitted with specialist weapons and combat hardware. In this adrenaline pumping fight for survival, warring forces utilize a variety of different vehicles, deployable structures, and defense systems including quad-bikes, tanks, and alien walkers for epic ground assaults; or helicopters and anti-gravity ships to unleash airborne attacks. Throughout each battle, teams establish bases, deploy defense structures, artillery, radar, and advanced forward-command systems into enemy territory while constructing and demolishing obstacles to speed progress and gain a tactical advantage over the opponent. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars features 16-player battles on the console systems, delivering the ultimate team-and objective-based multiplayer experience. [Activision/id Software] Expand

  1. Enemy Territory is the very definition of tactical warfare and its objective-base design and multiple classes will keep you playing longer than any other game in the genre.
  2. The graphics are worse, joypads are a poor substitute for keyboard and mouse control, online play is laggier and there aren’t enough people playing. And to rub it all in, you can pick the PC version for a good deal cheaper.
  3. PS3 owners have access to what is essentially the same game, but it's just nowhere near as polished, and as such can't be recommended above the console's current online multiplayer leaders.
  4. It made an impression all right, but it left such a sour taste in my mouth that I never want to slip the disc into my PS3 again.

  1. Quake wars on the Ps3 is a good game that is a great substitute if you don't have a PC. The PS3 version is basically identical in content to the PC, so you get the same enjoyment. The graphics of the game suffer, but are not completely bad. They're on par with a lower mid range pc i estimate. The sound is much better on ps3 than it is on the 360. The sound effects are about as good as the pc version. The game suffers from a lack of polish. The game has framerate issues and minor glitches. The mission structure works excellently and the classes are well balanced. Objectives are varied, and the fast paced gameplay makes it a huge thrill to fight your way towards objectives. The controls work well, but not everything is completely console friendly. Switching items and commanding troops can be a chore, but once you get used to it it rarely becomes an issue. you also will want to turn off the autoaim. The gunplay works as well as ever. And the better gun sounds makes it more satisfying on ps3. The fun factor is good. The bots are impressive, objectives are compelling, and the leveling and ranking system works well. The game features the same content on the pc. Even if the game doesn't look very good, and the game suffers other minor issues, it's still extremely fun. Buy it now, as it is much cheaper than it was before. It's a good game, just not as good as the pc version. Expand
  2. Disappointing is all I have to say. I was expecting a good new shooter as an alternative to CoD4 at the time; I didn't find it here. There was no actual campaign, just a random assortment of missions you could do whenever you felt like it. Multiplayer was decent to begin with, but lagged and lagged and lagged, to the point where it was unplayable. I would not recommend this game at all. Expand

Horrible!! By far the worst fps / if i dare say tactical shooter ever made on PS3 to date. Ive experienced some bad games b4 but this one definately has made No:1 for worst games of 08. Do not buy.
No replay value at all, second rate graphics, and so much repitition that staring at my dvd screensaver becomes amusing to say the least.
    Nuf said.
