Fantastic fun. Brawlers tend to be easy to get into but there were times I sincerely had trouble putting down the controller.

Overall, Final Exam is a fun game played solo or online or locally with others.

Frantic action-packed 2D brawler is a bit monotonous but granted with a very fun multiplayer factor.

While venturing away from survival horror, Mighty Rocket Studio follows the rules of the side-scrollers assiduously, but lacks some imagination to really succeed in Final Exam, at least as a solitary test. Indeed as a collegial experience, this teen movie massacre gets much more interesting, since the gameplay delivers its full power through teamwork.

With lackluster looks and a lame story serving as ballast, the combat would have to be spot on perfect to carry this game out of mediocrity. It’s good, far and away the best part of the game, with the scoring system adding challenge, thought and tension to the proceedings, but it’s not enough to push this into “must have” status.

Final Exam is good arcade action title, but it won’t be setting the world on fire with its gameplay.

In total, it is an ugly game which misuses its aesthetic, feels archaic and unfinished in its execution. Final Exam sits as a poor relation within a genre which has already given quality titles like Guardian Heroes, Metal Slug and Viewtiful Joe.
