It's a fantastic addition to XBLA and PSN, and it's a great way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Galaga.

The fast and flashy dual-stick shooting of Galaga Legions DX makes it fun to blast space bugs all over again.

You'll blast through the ten levels in less than two hours, and improving your score doesn't have the pull you'd expect.

Galaga Legions DX isn't as perfect as Pac-Man CE DX, but is still a lot of fun and with beautiful visuals.
  5. It all becomes a beautiful addictive dream. [Nov 2011, p.99]

One round of Galaga Legions DX will show you about all it has to offer. It is gorgeous to behold, but there isn't much to sink your teeth into.

Galaga Legions DX is an easy and short game. It doesn't do anything better than its predecessor and doesn't bring something new to the table. It's fun for a while, but after an hour you realize this is a dumb and hollow 2D-shooter.

A fun twin stick shooter with an emphasis on fast-paced action and high scores. It may not be the classic Galaga you remember, but there areA fun twin stick shooter with an emphasis on fast-paced action and high scores. It may not be the classic Galaga you remember, but there are plenty of reasons to give this modern reimagining a chance. Blasting your way through waves of enemies and watching the explosions unfold is chaotic fun that is only increased by seeing how high of a score you can get. It looks and sounds fantastic as well, and the ability to choose between the new and several old school style of graphics is incredibly sweet. Admittedly it doesn't have that much content, but the few levels that are here are meant to be replayed in order to compete for that no. 1 spot on the leaderboards. I'm not the kind of person who cares about competing for high scores, so the game doesn't score as high with me as it could have. Still I can't deny that I did have a blast playing it, and if you're the kind of person who does like to compete for high scores then this is a game that will satisfy your competitive itch. Expand
