Only the mulitplayer of Sanctum of Slime could offer some fun. For 800 Microsoft Points you'll get 8 to 10 hours of ghostbusters action. But you'll miss the real Ghostbusters in this game.

The Ghostbusters team are in need of new recruits and you will play one of them. You have to hunt down different ghosts in twelve levels on your own or in co-op with a few friends. Unfortunately the AI is crap, the controls don't work and the gameplay is repetitive.

All in all I'm really disappointed! Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime paves a perfect path to kill that cool franchise.

In the end, referring to Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime by its abbreviated name, Ghostbusters: S.O.S., is probably the most appropriate thing to do. Even without the license, this is a game that's on life support. Coming in at 800 MSP ($10), it may seem like a fun impulse purchase, but your money is better spent by tracking down a used copy of Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Even for the hardcore fans, there really isn't much to see here.

  1. Extremely simple gameplay with a really bad camera that moves on it own. The weapons do not exactly work all the time, and I found the controls to be unresponsive at times (like throwing the trap). The comic book cut scenes are also badly timed. They either have a slide up with a picture for a very long time, or too much text for a short amount of time. In the end, spend the extra $10 and buy a copy of the excellent first person shooter released over a year ago. Expand

Older gamers will instantly notice the similarity in gameplay this has to Acclaim's 1990 arcade game "Smash TV." Players move from room to room eliminating ghosts with different guns and traps, including the proton pack from the films. You are one of four new recruits to the Ghostbuster business and are charged with cleaning out the supernatural elements of an old mental hospital. It is a very simple game that lost my interest very quickly. Not unplayable by an means, but even as a fan of the franchise I really couldn't get into it. Expand
