First off, i like olympic console games, ever since summer games 2 on the commodore 64. I feel that this game does everything pretty well. Its actually difficult to obtain world records ( as it should be ), archery is great, running events use a much better method than the old ones. its compelling trying to beat your times and the online has been done really well. Would definately reccomend this to anyone who likes this genre. Full Review »
  2. This is an excellent game, people usually give bad grades for Olympic games, but this is really fun. There´s a lot events and both offline and on line are great. Full Review »
  3. You should by now know what to expect when an Olympic title rears it's head once every 2 years. The winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010 was a triumph of the genre because of two main reasons. Firstly, the main principle of the winter games is usually speeding down a slope of some description attached to skies or sitting in a sled. Both have obvious appeal. Secondly, 'Friends Best' this feature was sadly lacking in the latest summer incarnation and to the games detriment. The 'Friends Best' time is situated at the bottom right included alongside the World and Olympic Record times and acts as a passive multi-player experience by showing, surprisingly, your friend time for you to conquer. What could be better.

Having this feature removed along with the exhilaration of downhill racing and you are left with a shallow handful of mini-games that have very little commercial appeal outside of the furore of the summer games. Although nicely polished these events soon become monotonous and the repeated commentary quickly grating unfortunately the game falls at the finish line.

It's saving grace is the fact that there are a fair few hours of gameplay packaged up and this title is available on the PSN which is always a bonus.
