  1. As much of a surprise as it may be, Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is definitely an enjoyable game to play when you need to take a break from all of the shooters and action games that are out there. For $10, you get three entertaining modes that offer quite a bit of content that will take you a while to get through.
  2. For PS3-owning mahjong fans, there’s enough to like, despite the poor multiplayer options.

At this point, making a decent Mahjong game should be a cakewalk, but Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom's lame control scheme, poor sound quality, and lackluster visuals prove that the world of mahjong videogames still has a long way to go.
  4. Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is a boring, and uninspired take on classic Mahjong Solitaire, and it's definitely not something I suggest to people looking for something on the PSN.
  5. For a mildly cerebral experience it’s probably up there with the PSN’s other puzzle titles. It is overpriced, however, and the score reflects that.
  6. Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is not good.
  7. To say that Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is overpriced at $10 would be a bit of an understatement. To be honest I had a hard enough time dragging myself to play the game for free.

My wife loves it. When she read the reviews on Metacritic from IGN and Gaming Age she was like, "What do they expect? It's Mahjong". We like the multiplayer on it, she likes the different game types. For $10 we are definatly getting our money worth out of it. Is it the best PSN game around? definatly not (Cuboid and Magic Ball from the same developer are better) but it's not a waste of money and a lot of fun.... if you like Mahjong. Expand
