Midway Arcade Origins has 31 classic-games to offer and can convince with an authentic presentation. The problem is the small degree of diversity. Most of the games are just boring after five minutes and only a few of them can really last longer. Local multiplayer is great though. All in all the game can make your friends and you a nice evening of gaming, but nothing more.

A generous number of titles with a handful of really choice stuff. Stylistic preservation is coupled with better resolution. Add in solid options, PSN leaderboards, with local multiplayer, and the $30 asking price becomes quite reasonable. Still, online play would have taken pushed this up a few levels.

Many of the games are great, and the effort to bring them to new audiences is noble, but frustrating technical problems drain the fun of the experience like so many ants and razor blades in Bubbles (a deceptively awesome game included the collection).

Midway has included a great variety of arcade games from yesteryear that can either fuel nostalgia for older gamers or give young gamers a chance to play simpler games that only have one or two buttons to press instead of the complicated mess that most games are today. Most of the 31 games are faithful recreations that represent the golden age of arcade gaming with great co-op play and leaderboards for single players. Some of the best are the old school shooters and classic top down driving games. A few games suffer from technical issues having bad controls but rampart is the only one where it's near game breaking. Fantastic collection that's only $15-20 brand new and is great fun for trophy hunters (easy plat), leaderboard fanatics (one for each game making 31 boards), young gamers (very simple controls for most games), and anyone looking for their classic fix.
