This game is a pretty simple online shooter with good maps and gameplay. The game has nice graphics, pretty cool audio and fine multiplayer modi. Besides all the positive elements the number of maps is a bit low and the learning curve is pretty high.
incredible value for money, and a great distraction for those who've exhausted the tier-1 shooters. at full price and with a solo element, it could punch at its weight. as it is, this is unbeatable.
Although not many maps for this game it does provide a very balanced experience. The weapons are increasingly more powerful as you level up but you have to get the kills in to earn the money to rebuy once you die or start a new game. Have a bad time of it then its back to the standard guns for you. Id say this game is more counter strike than a world thats obsessed with CoD, I think its much more tactical. Also Move does actually work - shame you cant select Move only servers but still the shooting is accurate enough to compete at some level against dual shock controllers. Talking of servers they are bliss, excellent and cant think of a time I couldnt connect or I got booted for whatever reason other than a powercut. While the game doesnt provide ANY thing new it does bring back retro combat FPS to a genre thats firmly up its own arse, personally Im sick of CoD and doubt Ill buy another one. When games like this are of the PSN Ill save my £32 and spend it on something useful.
Modern Combat: Domination is a good FPS exclusively dedicated to multiplayer. Despite the fact that maps and modes are only a few, and some flaws linked to sporadic lag, the product Gameloft convinces.
Shooter fans shouldn't hesitate because it is an online shooter reduced to its absolute main parts. For everyone else the learning curve is quite high, technically speaking there are better shooters out there, and variety is missing.
For their next trick, Gameloft has decided to borrow heavily from Counter Strike. That means buying your weapons at the start of the round, and no respawns in most game types. Mechanically the gameplay is okay, but there are many technical issues, such as glitchy netcode, spotty matchmaking and long loading times. It's cheap though, and if Gameloft fix the technical issues, it could be a nice change of pace from the Battlefields and Calls of Duty.
In terms of low-budget games, you could do way worse than MCD. If you're one of the sad few who has missed out on the Modern Warfare craze due to financial issues or you simply want another game that's Move compatible, then MCD should fit well within your budget. The game isn't spectacular, but it has enough bells and whistles to keep you occupied.
Modern Combat: Domination is really competitive, refreshing and addictive. With a level system up to 72, 5 maps, 6 game-play types and 9 dollars: I bought it right away. Combats are intense and quick. The graphics are great, but some maps could get more sounds environment events.
I rate it 10 because I'm really happy to get a cs like game on console, but without my emotions it deserve at least a 9.0. My point of view.
I got this game for $1 on a PS3 store sale and had more fun with it than many stapled on multiplayer modes to $60 single player games. It is very basic and cheap looking but the gameplay is a lot of fun once you get use to the slow pace. The running speed is about the normal speed for most shooters these days. The gameplay is very balanced for those of us who just want to shoot people online and don't want to play 150 hours to get equipment that is really needed to be competitive. Nobody being annoying on voice chat is a real plus. A lot of fun for almost nothing in money.
This game isn't to bad. the graphics are ok, nothin special. the game play is ok as well. the level design leaves to much for campers, and the hit detection is pretty poor, especially from long range. there are tons of similarities to counterstrike. this game actually has nothing in common with call of duty. its slower, you have to buy your weapons every round. you have a health bar, and you can equip diferent gear, like grenades and body armor. by the way it takes way to many bullets to kill some one in this game. all in all its ok, nothin special, but if you need filler till killzone 3 comes out..well just go buy killzone 2.
This game is terrible. Let me start off with the bot system. It is the worst I have ever seen in a multiplayer FPS. It is pathetically unfair, with bots able to kill you in one shot from any distance with any gun, whether it is an MP5 or a Benelli M4. Sometimes a bot will spawn right around a corner behind you and take you out. If you get too close, they will knife you (by the way, the knife is incredibly hard to use) and instantly kill you, no matter whether you have armor or not. They are all level 1, so they always use the level 1 weapons, which are the MP5, Benelli M4, UMP45, SPAM-4 (a reskin of the M4) Desert Eagle, Beretta 92FS, Vulture (exactly the same as the Deagle, except slightly browner) or the N8 (another rename, this time of the 92FS) They also get full armor AND a primary weapon every spawn, even though human players can't afford it. The maps are bland, badly designed, boring, and too big for the 16 max players to have much action. The connection and loading times are about as long as on their mobile games. The multiplayer interaction is nonexistent, with not even a chat box to be had. The graphics are bad, and the lighting is very dull, dark and depressing. This hybrid of Counter-Strike and Call of Duty is worse than average. If you want something better than this, go play some AAA title like COD, Battlefield, or Counter-Strike. The original Counter-Strike is the same price, and even though the graphics are very dated, it's a lot more fun than this, and has a community that is a lot larger than this. I think that Gameloft's specialty is at mobile games, and that they should stay with mobile games.
